I Am Not A Villian.

“Hi, Ms Luthor? This is Kara Danvers, of CatCo Media? Are you okay with me recording our interview today?” Kara’s voice never shook as she greeted the younger sister of her cousin’s worst foe.

She wasn’t afraid of the woman in front of her. No, rather than that…. The Kryptonian seemed intrigued by Lena Luthor. She was something different — a breath of fresh air.

It wasn’t like it was a secret that Kara liked women. She dated, a couple times here and there. And she’d never forget her first love, Kennedy. However— Kara had to admit it wasn’t usually this fast when Kara felt attraction to someone else.

At any rate, this was in a professional setting. She’d figure out what her feelings were later; clearing her throat she continued: “It’s easier than writing notes down,” a dry chuckle escaping her mouth as she looked up at the Luthor earnestly.

Blonde hair fell in her face as she fiddled with her glasses, awaiting Lena’s response. Brushing it out of her face, Kara attempted to ignore the buzzing in her ear as her glasses fell slightly off, putting her powers on alert instead of dampened by the glasses. She quickly fixed the frame, not wanting to be out of focus for this interview.

It was important.

Lena was not unused to a chaotic day, heck most of her days were much like that - scheduled to the brim with interviews and meetings. Barely having time for her own research and sometimes even to eat, although things somewhat more flexible these days due to usually having her son with her. Jess - bless her existence and loyalty, was quite helpful with that though - like right now she was watching over Lukas for Lena so she could focus on this interview.

It was something important to Lena to keep him out of the site of the media, perhaps it wasn’t the greatest thing - but not having many people aware that she had a child was the best thing for him. It protected him and right now with him so young, it was perhaps the best idea she had to keep him safe. It didn’t bother him, he was too young to really know anything else. 

The young Luthor woman looked up, offering a slight smile to the blonde entering, there was a brightness about her that quickly eased some concerns over this interview she had been expecting. “Miss. Danvers was it? Please, please - feel free to take a seat, and its Lena.” Being called Ms. Luthor only reminded her of Lillian, an uncomfortable feeling surrounding that whole thought that she quickly shook. 

The blonde was - something else that was for sure, but what that something else was - would take more than just a moment of thought. 

As she spoke she moved a little closer - allowing Kara to decide where they would sit. “Recording it is fine with me, is this interview in regards to anything in particular? Or just a well,  checking up on the new Luthor in town?” Perhaps to some the slight tone in her voice could be picked up, a faint resigning to her last name - a disappointment even. But to most it would just appear to be curious.

alex was starting to become a little restless as she and lena waited for kara to show up. she was late, and of course alex’s mind started to think of worst case scenarios. “kara should be here by now,” alex commented as she checked the time on her wristwatch. wondering if something had happened, she sounded slightly concerned. her phone buzzed just as she was pulling it from her pocket in order to call her sister.

 she took a moment to read the text. “kara’s…sick.” alex couldn’t fully hide her annoyance. she wasn’t too sure what kara was up to, but even in text she was a terrible liar. After slipping her phone back into her pocket, alex placed all of her attention on Lena. “since this was kara’s idea i guess we could just call it a night. or, seeing as we both got dressed up we could just go to the bar kara picked out anyway. i don’t know about you, but today was long and i could really use a drink right about now.”

Lena was rarely late, something that most who knew her could easily attest to. The young Luthor woman was punctual if nothing else. However Kara Danvers... it wasn’t so unusual for her to be at least a little late - but this late? This was a little more concerning, so much so that Lena had more than once glanced at her own watch - and her phone to double check it was saying the right time. 

She didn’t say anything - not voicing her own concerns, until Alex voiced the same concern, then Lena’s own mind began to wander to some bad conclusions of her own. “Wait - sick?” Lena voiced finally, blinking several times as she took in the excuse - even not hearing it, Lena had her doubts on if the excuse was actually real or not. Not to mention more than once Kara had insisted that she ‘I don’t get sick, Lena’. If that wasn’t enough though, Alex didn’t seem as worried now that Kara had actually texted, so Lena’s own worries faded - a little at least.

Kara raised her eyebrows. “Interesting…. Is it ice cream sundaes?! Lena, are we making sundaes?!” Kara demanded, gripping her wife’s hands eagerly. “PLEASE tell me what you’re planning.”

Lena raises her own brow, waiting to see what Kara’s reaction would be - however this was much better than she had expected and soon the young Luthor woman was smiling and holding back a laugh of her own, “Darling, now if I told you - it wouldn’t be a surprise now would it?” she attempts to keep her expression firm, but her smile was tugging back into place at the eager, although slightly demanding woman in front of her. 

“I…..wasn’t supposed to eat that ice cream?”

First off - sorry for the not-so-great image going along with this. This day apparently snuck up on me, so making something awesome and pretty kinnnddaa wasn’t possible for me.

However - it has been a Year since I recreated Lena on this blog, a year of ups and downs and many- many wonderful people entering my life because of this amazing woman. For that I want to take a quick moment to thank you all, some of you need no introductions - a simple glance at my blog here and you instantly know who I am talking about. Others are more brief and silent but often have me in your inboxes and DM’s (not to mention dealing with me on Discord!!). 

I have made some amazing friends in this past year, because of taking the plunge to show my love for this character, there have been hardships - of course there have, notibly some quite the annoying and not-so-kind anons - but through those many people have stood by me, and... even fellow Lena blogs have stood by my side. (The League of Lena’s is still amazing tbh!) My confidence has grown because of this wonderful character that I love as my own, and the people who still now support me and put up with my rants and random rushes of love for Lena Luthor... (again thank you for doing that!) very few people who meet me through this blog, do not know what I am talking about.

Needless to say - its been a year, I have loved and hated moments - but never regretted making this blog and I have a strong love and hope that would make even Supergirl herself proud. That I will be here for another year, Lena’s blog is not going anywhere - and I have many other people to thank for that. But today - this blog is offically turning ONE YEAR OLD.

And I want to somehow make that special - if anyone has ideas, please let me know them - otherwise, lets just make today a good day, for Lena!
