So lately I’ve been tracing the basic figure structure of animated gifs.

I thought it might make for some good anatomy and movement practice, which it has been. It’s also pretty cool to see a clear skeleton of a character’s movements. I find it’s so hard to appreciate the fine detail in each frame when everything about a clip is so beautifully animated. This gave me a good excuse to really look close at each frame.

I’m glad I thought to do this and really recommend the exercise for anyone really interested in art or animation. If you’re curious this was done on photoshop.
