I felt the way you loved me. I felt the way I loved you. And for the first time, I understood what they talk about in books. It scared the hell out of me.

There are colors I can only see when you’re beside me. The blue of the ocean is bluer. The green of the trees is greener. That’s how much influence you have over me, and I can’t decide whether that’s good or not. I don’t think you can either.

Some things are meant to be, and I believe we are one of them. You’re still my opposite in everything, though. That has never changed and probably never will. I kind of believe that’s the beauty of being us. That’s what makes us... us. All our imperfections, you know? I like that, Luke. I really do. All the stillness I lack, you carry within you. And I bring you all the chaos you certainly don’t need. but I carry it anyway.

I’m looking at you right now — shirtless, messy hair, a soft smile on your face while you cook my breakfast. I let myself drift back to the past and find the younger versions of us. Your hair isn’t as long as it used to be, but your eyes… those eyes. They are the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. You still carry the ocean and the sky inside them — maybe that’s why it’s so intimidating to look into them.
