Finished my geologic time scale scarf! It is stupidly long and works with a scale of 1 row = 5 million years. The colors correspond loosely to the official GSA/ICS colors

Conglomerate and breccia is just the bobba and Kiki of rocks.

Pahoehoe and aa are straight up hawian words.

Feldspar comes from the German word for field rock.

Some are just fun to say like oolitic and tuff and tufa and circe and gneiss and graywacke.

Sometimes there are big words I'll never use like catastrophicism and uniformitarianism.

And there are many examples of having multiple words and terms to describe the same thing! Like Orthoclase = orthoclase feldspar = k feldspar = feldspar = potassium feldspar.

You know the name of every single rock. Since all rocks are a little bit different, every individual rock has a unique name. They come out of your head as if you've memorized them by heart and feature NO physically descriptive words but somehow perfectly describe each stone. Like Kiki and Bouba.
