The very second I heard the rain, I threw on a jacket & ran outside to enjoy the smell of wet cement, feel the rain on my toes, and listen to the sound of the pelting of raindrops on my roof & my aluminum gutters as it increased in intensity over a few minutes. Spring is so close! 😊🌧🌿🌷

OMG YOU GUYS. I try not to buy big food treats like this very often (I try to buy new clothes or something else), but after the day I had of working so hard, I ran out to get myself this delicious salted caramel cupcake! Hell yeah!

I’ve been super MIA on here the last few weeks, mainly due to crazy times at work & finals at school. Now that finals have passed, I worked the entire day (with the exception of 2 breaks of ~1 hour each) to finish a financial modeling assignment & I actually thought it was kinda fun once I got the hang of it! I’m so proud of myself for getting this handled today!

I think I’m learning...

At the grocery store, I picked up a few chocolate eggs as a little yummy treat.

When I got home, I put all but 1 away to eat, but over the next 10 minutes, I ate all 5 that I had bought. I was upset at myself for mindlessly eating them, but in retrospect I’m realizing they weren’t that great, especially for how my belly feels right now.

I’m just going to leave this here as a lesson & try to remind myself of this the next time I reach for multiple treats when I only intend to have 1.

One thing I’ve learned through life is how good efficiency feels to me. I love being under a low level of stress where I have a bunch of things to do & I can prioritize them and start knocking them out. I find while working through an MBA program, I need to take advantage of every bit of free time I have. Even on a short layover between flights, as I had just now, I’ll get to the terminal I need to be in, run to the bathroom, grab a snack (if I don’t have one stashed in my bag), and then sit down for the remaining 15 minutes until my flight starts boarding for some quick studying.

This is unrealistic to do at all points in your life because everyone needs a bit of down time, but it’s exhilarating to get in a small study sesh & realize you now fully comprehend the subject you started studying just a few minutes ago by the time your flight is boarding.
