#okay so#they donât get concussions#which is when your brain smacks up against the inside of your skull#they have super thick neck muscles that diffuse the force of the blow#over 1000G by the way#the nictitating membrane keeps the eyes inside the head#(google crocodile nictitating membrane if you donât know what that is)#and they have this spongy bone stuff on the inside of their skull that cradles the brain as the bird face smashes into the tree#itâs glorious glorious evolution

When humpback whales are plying polar waterways, theyâre constantly trying to fill upâsucking down as much as two tons of food a day. They need to pack on the pounds to support their 70,000-pound frame before migrating thousands of miles south to tropical waters to breed.
Youâd think that with their massive mouths, humpbacks would search out the biggest fish they could swallow. But no, their diet is primarily made up of tiny shrimp and small fish they filter through their baleen plates.
And with hungry humpbacks on the lookout for the same food supply, you would expect that they would keep their distance from each other.
But take a look at this seagull-view footage, from Alaskaâs Prince William Sound, and itâs clearâhumpbacks have a strategy all their own when it comes to fishing, and that strategy takes teamworkâŚ
