I am adoring these new ocs

I don't have a ton all schemed out for them yet but here's what I have brainstorming:

Fern is a regular human princess who's dutiful but bored, discovers Flo one day and is fascinated

Flo lost her legs and tail somehow and is driven by ambition to never be poor or helpless

Fern gets Flo hired at the palace as priestess

Flo starts sabotaging courting attempts bc she thinks if the princess is too busy to be her friend she'll lose her new position, oblivious that Fern is down bad for her

at some point while the princess is in disguise as a commoner a man tries to grope her, Flo cuts off his hand and it leads to the man's side story of marrying a woman just as tough as him and them saving a cute girl from other brutes, turns out she's a bossy little thing that becomes their third
