I currently live with Alder and Benga. Drayden and Iris frequently stay with us, too.

There are also many pokémon friends that like to visit, along with a few who have permanent residence with me. They are free to come and go as they want, but they choose to stay by my side. If you have any questions for any of them, I'm certain they would love to answer! Z and Tomie are by my side the most often.

The thing about N is that they are a person who needs a guiding figure just as much as they need to experience a world that isn't trying to control them. There's a balance to be had, and yet I never know whether I'm there or not. You don't often know before it's too late.

I worry about being too controlling. I believe you can't love someone without respecting them, and to respect someone is to let them be self-sufficient. Yet we also all need more help from time to time.

That being said, understanding your pokémon is a skill that can be learned. Iris is quite in-tune with her pokémon- she knows their hearts, what they want or need. The best way to understand them is to observe. Most pokémon speak through gesture and subtlety.

Spend a day watching your pokémon. Get down- or up- to their level, play as they would. You learn a lot that way.
