Zach watched Nathan, watched and waited and before long, finally the man delivered what heâd been meant to from the moment Zach walked through the door. Arms enveloped him, surrounded him and held on to him tightly as he shut his eyes. âI missed you tooâŚâ He murmured, burying into the skin of Nathanâs neck. His friend, his lover, his whole world. âEvery minute of every single day.â It was an honest to God truth, he pulled Nathan closer somehow.
Leaning back, he took Nathanâs face in his hand. âQuit being so scared of doing what you want.â He murmured. âJust take what you want, Nathan. Because those things usually want you back.â Kissing him slowly, he shut his eyes. âI love you, how do you not know that?â Another kiss and a sigh. âI love you more than anything, youâre the sun for me. C'mon Nathan⌠tell me itâs the same way backâŚâ It was a plea, broken and fragile delivered from his lips. âTell me you love me too.â
It felt a bit like his chest was going to burst, like maybe all the feelings that Nathan had been hoarding inside there were trying to claw their way out. He wasnât particularly good at dealing with grief, the best he knew how to do was to bottle everything up until he drove himself to the brink. But this, this was different, this was relief in the purest sense. He clung to Zach, reveled in the feeling of his breath on his neck. Cherished everything heâd thought heâd never have again.Â
âI canât always have the things I want. I donât deserve all of them. Iâm afraid of losing them if I move too fast and they realize thatâ Nathan spoke softly, honestly. He kissed Zach back, his hands clenched in the fabric of his shirt, never intending to let go again. Those words, they certainly didnât stop the bursting feeling in his chest. Nathan leaned down again, capturing Zachâs lips before leaning back just enough that he could watch his face. âI love you. I love you so much. Youâre the one who taught me I could love again, just by being you. You enchanted me the moment I met you. I am never going to stop loving you Zachariah Harper.âÂ
