"I have been in Paris nearly two months and I come home to the news of a new Gossip Girl wreaking havoc?" Audrey's brows raised and a laugh escaped her lips "Who do you think it is this time? The parents being jealous of us younger adults?" She shrugged "That would have been hilarious"

"I don't even notice it anymore. I think I'm just immune to it now, which I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing." Nate said with a laugh hand took a sip of his beer. "Could always be worse though, right?"

"I got to watch The Devil Wears Prada 2 in theaters when it came out at the premiere here in the city and oh my gosh, the movie was fucking amazing. Everyone needs to go and see it." @ggstarterblog

"I haven't seen it, but I'll have to ask Serena if she wants to see it." He said. "If anything, we can get a private screening before it goes to streaming."

"I woke up and apparently Chuck and I are having a big argument. Damn, I can't wait to find out what else Gossip Girl knows about my relationship and myself." She laughed and took a sip of her drink. @ggstarterblog

"Damn, and I'm guessing Serena and I are in the middle of it?" He joked and looked at Blair. "I'm glad you can laugh it off, Blair. Seriously."

"Now that was a hard watch." Carter said as he watched a couple break up over where to eat for lunch. "Jesus, people are that pathetic." @ggstarterblog

Nate shook his head and looked at Carter. "I feel like that was just the icing on the break up cake for them, you know?"

"I'm so exhausted, I have been working so much lately, but I hate that I can't say anything." Imogen said with a laugh. "Anyways, how are you doing?" @ggstarterblog

"There's nothing wrong with working a lot." Nate said with a smile. "That's really great. Are you at least excited for what you have planned?"

"Can honestly say Monday's are my favourite time of the week... I know it's a very unpopular opinion, but valid, right?" She raised a brow.

"I think the stigma comes from people having way too much on the weekend and feeling like they did nothing at the same time." He looked at her. "I never have an issue with any day of the week, if I'm being honest."

"Nothing will ever beat the drinks that Pyrthian and the fae have, but this drink is pretty damn close, so kudos to the bartender for that." @ggstarterblog

Nate looked at Nesta and chuckled. "Well, maybe you could get what ingredients are used for the drinks back in Pyrhtian and we can start incoperating them into the bars here. Let you feel like you're at home."

"So Gossip Girl, whoever, or whatever, she is, wrote about me, and I'm supposed to be worried? That makes no damn sense to me." @ggstarterblog

"Coming from someone who has dealt with Gossip Girl for way too long, she can be a threat." Nate looked at the younger male. "She can very much ruin your life."

"That's a fair point, sir." Ren replied and looked at him. "You're out there dealing with every possible problem before it becomes a disaster. It takes a certain kind of person to handle that much pressure and still show up every day. You should be proud. Not many people can say they do half the good you do for this city."

"Well thank you, Ren." Nate said with a chuckle. "I needed to hear that, actually. I feel like I've been failing a lot, you know? I hate to admit it, but it's just...it's been a lot. Apparently the dragon riders have their powers, so do the Fae, and there's a Fallen Angel here too who also has powers."

Mary rolled her eyes. " I don't need to know you, nor do I want to. And second, who are you trying to convince right now, me or you?" She asked him. " You can simply walk away, you like to do that, don't you? So, be my guest, mayor..." She said pointing him the way.

Nate shook his head. "Okay, fine." He said. The last thing he wanted to do was be around someone who was going to judge him for no reason. Instead, he walked away to let Mary be miserable.

"At least there's less influencers and tourists in town." Ren replied and chuckled. "Same here, my work is more important than a mere festival anyway." He said and took a bite of his pancake. "I'm good, busy as always with cases. How about you, Mayor Archibald?"

"Yeah, but as annoying as they are, they do tend to boost our economy." Nate said witha shrug. "I'm doing good, doing a lot of good for the city, and I couldn't be more stressed out, but proud at the same time, you know?"

"Isn't Mysteries & Mayhem the name of a podcast already?" Nate raised a brow and chuckled at the question. "I'm going to be honest, I did not, but that sadly seems to be the new norm here." He shrugged and raised a brow as he watched her flinch. "If you have PTSD, we can do something else."

"Oh! Is that so?" She said, tilting her head. "Don't worry, the name's still very much in the works. I just came up with it a second ago. How about… Curious Case Files? Sounds snappy, right?" She said as she pulled out her voice recorder. "And… that was nothing! Just me being dramatic. I'm totally fine, promise. Anyway, are you ready to start?"

"I have no clue, some of the people I work with are obsessed with true crime podcasts, and that sounds like one of the names." Nate said and nodded. "That one sounds good. Hey, there is nothing wrong with being dramatic, it's what sells for things like podcasts and TV."

"Well what the actual fuck did I ever do to you to make you not trust me?" Nate questioned her. "And fuck you, I'm not about to go into a pity party."

" Well, considering that I went to school with you and know all the shit you did, kinda helps...but there's something about you that I can't put my finger on, but I know, I just know... You're not to be trusted." she admitted. " And language, Mayor... you're inside school grounds."

Nate scoffed and shook his head. "First off, just because we went to school together, doesn't mean you know me. Second off, I'm not even the same person I was five years ago, let ago back in high school." He folded his arms across his chest. "I'll watch my language, but I'm not going to be judged because you have an idea of how I am."

They say justice is blind, but lucky for him, he saw everything. The busy cafe didn't hide much, not from him anyway. Seated comfortably in the corner, laptop open beside his coffee, Ren watched the room with sharp, observant eyes. Behind his glasses, his mind was already working, noticing details others easily missed.

Robin waved as the person she was meeting entered the diner, already taking her favorite spot. "Oh hey, you're here! So glad you agreed to be a guest on my brand-new podcast, Mysteries & Mayhem." She smiled at them and gestured for them to take a seat. "For starters… did you just see that guy walk into that shadow outside and… not come back out? Perfect, we already have a topic." The overhead lights flickered and she flinched sharply before forcing a grin. "Uh… yeah. Now I'm getting serious PTSD from that." @ggstarterblog
