Britta and the Bear
Procreate, 11 x 17 inches, 2020
Britta and the Bear is a 20-page children’s book I wrote and illustrated for my senior thesis. The story grapples with concepts such as fear, the unknown, and otherness in a colorful and child-friendly way.
J&J Character Design
Pencil and pen, 6 x 9 inches, 2018
Above are sketches of characters from my short comic, J&J. There are six unique characters, two of whom change their hair partway through the 13-page comic. Each character has unique features, expressions, and senses of style to convey visually, which took a lot of practice and planning.
J&J
Copic markers, 11.5 x 8 inches, 2018
J&J is an original comic dealing with topics of race, gender, and sexuality in the modern age. Six well-meaning teenagers grapple with identities and relationships, all while enjoying an evening out in San Francisco.I chose a limited color scheme in order to foreshadow the importance of the color pink in the story. It comes to represent femininity as well as confidence and self-assurance as the story progresses.
Tied Together
Copic markers, 10 x 10 inches, 2018
This piece was my final for a drawing class. It is about how people can be reliant on one another and their lives become entangled. Here, I was focusing on shading and details, such as wrinkles and shoelaces.

Sketchbook Tour
Mixed media, 17 x 12 inches, 2017
This is a tour of my International Baccalaureate Higher Level Art class sketchbook. I selected this piece because it shows how process-focused I have been throughout my artistic development.
3:12 am
Adobe Illustrator, 2550 x 1650 px, 2019
This is a digital still life I created in my Intermediate Digital Art class. It is based on a photo of my dorm desk and diffuser. This piece was about creating ambience for me. I was attempting to replicate the duality of energy and stillness that the middle of the night has, ergo the title.
Waves
Adobe After Effects, 1080 x 1920 px, 2019
Waves is my first try at animation. It goes with a song written by a friend who asked me to help him create a music video. I wanted to create a calming video in order to match the music. I considered going for more complex subject matter than waves, but ultimately wanted to reflect the title and the relaxed energy of the song without distracting from the music.
Aries
Copic markers, 3.5 x 5.5 inches, 2018
Aries is a character I created a few years ago. Here we see the variation in his joyful reactions to different stimulants. On this page, I was exploring the distinctive expressions that fall under a single emotion.
Diane
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and watercolor, 5.5 x 3.5 inches, 2020
This is a drawing of my original character, Diane. She went through many iterations because she began as a doodle and became part of a larger Advanced Digital Art project.

Goosebumps
Adobe Photoshop, 5.5 x 7 inches, 2020
Goosebumps started as a simple drawing in my sketchbook, but I liked the design and meaning so much that I turned it into a digital artwork. The photo in the background providing color is of a bruise to contrast with the gentle touch.
Date Night
Adobe Photoshop and watercolor, 6 x 9 inches, 2020
This is a multimedia piece I created while experimenting with combining watercolor and digital art. The background is watercolor with salt for the stars, and the foreground is a Photoshop file based on a photo.
Diet
Adobe Photoshop, 6 x 6 inches, 2020
Diet is inspired by the Venus of Willendorf and other fertility sculptures. I appreciate the celebration of women, as well as the depiction of a fuller female form than we see in today’s media culture. I think that it is important to show plus-size women in art in order to fight the prevailing diet culture. The image is intended to celebrate natural beauty as well as a fuller female form.
Blue Room
Adobe Photoshop, 3.5 x 3.5 inches, 2020
Here, I was inspired by my favorite artist, Vincent Van Gogh, and his painting, Bedroom in Arles.
I'll Keep California
Adobe Photoshop and watercolor, 5.5 x 5 inches, 2020
I designed I’ll Keep California for my childhood best friend after her heart was broken. She wrote a beautiful song with the same title, so I decided to surprise her with an album cover in her favorite colors.

Raina
Adobe Illustrator and watercolor, 6 x 9 inches, 2020
Raina is an original character for a one-page comic I created. She started as a simple sketch, but developed into an artwork combining digital art and watercolor.
Tarot
Adobe Photoshop and Twine, 2124 x 1308 px, 2020
This is a video walk-through of my Twine game, Tarot. Each time a play “draws” a card, the program randomly selects one of 78 cards. Each card comes with a unique image and reading.
