am i the only one getting trans- or at least genderqueer vibes from Miki?
(I am an anime only, so idk if anything disproves or is explicitly stated later down the line of the manga, though if it did, i'd assume anilist would have some relevant spoiler tags, which is not the case)

Made a realisation about D&D 5e/2024, and Online TTRPG culture in general.
Long post ahead, you've been warned. Mostly exists to document personal thoughts.
For years, yet now seemingly more strongly with the 2024 Eddition of Dungeons and Dragons, people in deferent communities have discorce over balandcing between martials and casters. Which is a real thing yes. And others bring about the thought of 'Longer adventuring days', which is certainly a fix.
Now as a person who has predominantly played D&D 5e and the last couple of years fully changed to D&D 2024. Starting as an IRL DM, and shifting to Online Player and Online DM. I've realised something in regards to the way this game is most likely expected to be played- VS how it is actually played.
The vast majority of D&D groups (my games included), have a rather fast pace. With certainly not enough encounters to mend the caster / martial divide. And neither would it be fully fixed as Hit dice are something martials can run out of too- way faster after the casters run out of spells. This fast pace seems to also come from the great shift from IRL to Virtual Tables. Where as (And this part comes from my experience, so it is highly relative) IRL games, seems to have an easier time holding 5+ hour sessions, online games, understandably seem to flaxuate around 2-4. When you have less session- to session, it makes sense that most players hurry along- and most DM's plan less combats.
It goes to the other realisation i've made, in regards to players interaction with either eachother, or NPC's. Where in an IRL game, the visual and felt aspect of other people makes roleplay easier (for most), the longer sessions times in general make it more comfortable for players to take their time to make the most of their downtime.
While Online games- i've caught myself, as a DM and Player, as well as seeing my Fellow players or those i run games for, there is an inherent clunkiness. where i'd usually answer in character- i might save time by using the third person + a 'the feeling /meaning they are trying to convey is such' aproach. Along with the tiredness that comes with sitting infront of a screen, or having to combat bad internet or mic problem or the tetular VTT glitches.
Again it makes sense- People want more adventure and cool moments, but a large part of said adventure- the downtime is glossed over.
D&D is still mostly a system with IRL Tables in mind, and for those the fix can be implementing the optional 'gritty realism' rules, though i think making it a 3 rest-type system would work better (As in, still having your 1-hour short rest, then your long rests only replenish long rest abilities and like in 2014, half hit dice. And having your 'Safe Full Rest' be the 1-week downtime as shown in the gritty rules.) i belive this helps create the 'expected' vibe D&D as a system expects.
For Online groups though? Sure the same fix could apply, but it would only fit groups who are okay with a slower pace- 4 at most hours are hard to go through when you think you are just sitting around.
It bring to mind a very well established notion in the broader TTRPG hoby. D&D is not the TTRPG for everything. There are sure faster or more compact systems that could make Online play feel more rewarding. Not to say that people aren't making it work for D&D itself, and i doubt the 'martial caster divide' is that prevelant a problem in tables of actual chill people or friends. I don't care if Mr. Boy can cast fireball, while i can swing sword 2-3 times. I wanted to play sword guy, that is what sword guy does.
If you read till this point, thank you for going along with my thought. I'd love to see if others have similar or oposing thoughts on this.
(Contains Spoilers, for episode 9 of the amazing digital circus)
First, rewatching episode 8 in theatre was a pretty good experience. and episode 9, i was fortunate enough to watch without any spoilers due to the leak situation- except general opinions that it was not good, or that it was 'The Jax show'
That, is completly incorect.
Sure, Jax was given a decent amount of screen time, but it was less 'About him' in my eyes, than it was about his situation.
The amount of value he plays in the episide was exaggerated.
The ending was by all means, a 'Good' ending, as in, everyone is okay, and nothing of value (Jax) was lost. Thought it was great hearing the 14 year old girls shout in agony when he was revealed as abstraced. And the fact they did NOT bring him back, and it is implied to either be a long term project- or something they know won't amount to something but they look into to fill in the time. Was very good imo.
The Cain redemption was also peak.
AND OH MY GOD. The Credits drawings, with the cast as D&D characters (Gangle is DMing for them). KINGER CLERIC has so much fucking AURA. i need the episode out to screenshot that.
With the upcomming witch hat episode, which will probably kickstart the Coco and Tartah ship for the anime only's- I fear for how vocal the community discorce will end up being.
I for one till now (Chapter 96) don't have any Coco ship i like / dislike. They are kids, i see no merit in shipping them above the general thought of 'huh it would be cute ig'
But i just don't want discorce biggotry from either sides to be thrown out. I hope Witch hat atelier- even in anime form has a btter community than that.
Hot take. And sure nobody asked, and it seems like a non-corcern for anyone who likes it, but i just want to throw it off my chest. (Warning: i express opinions that are anti- Frieren x Himmel, and i am not taggin this post with those characters to avoid inconviniencing the shippers of the two, genreral series tag suffices)
It was funny seeing it once, but the influx of content about ''OMG Richeh is cannonically Frieren and Himmels child now!'' Are tiering me off, and it sours my enjoyment of one of my favourite witch hat characters.
That is in part because i am not a frieren x himmel shipper, i think the notion that they are mutually romantic is just people hyping up their headcannons too much. And every time they use the 'That one scene in the manga' in the time-reversal arc, which if is debatable, and not a fact. I know Himmel is the goat, and frieren is relatable to a lot of people, so they self-incert their wish fulfilment into a romance that is (up to this point, because it can become a thing due to popularity, like how apothecary dairies was forced to become a romance) not mutual. Himmel loved frieren, that is a fact, Frieren also cared deeply for- to the point you can call it love for him too. But it was neither romantic nor sexual as a lot try to pass off.
And as for Richeh, and sure this is just a self serving thing to say. it seems like frimmel shippers are comodifying her as a 'tool that helps my ship-genda' rather than see her as a character.
Important note, I am not in anyway bashing the fan-art, that's nice to see, even if i do not agree, i have no intitelment to even think 'i don't like that, it shouldn't exist' but i am just tired by the constant spam and reposting of this sentiment. Seeing it in any platform i happen to use. It is a niche enough thing that you can't filter out with #'s or the like.

This was a roller coaster. Too many implications of how things go. Hope Merize looked like Iruma only as a paralel though.
But yeah, seems like Children between demon and humans do exist. and Using Ameri as a subject we can confidently say the demon genes take over completly. Only case i could see her having a human influence might be on her peculiar Evil cicle? Though i do not remember if that time she was meeker was her evil cicle or the effect of something else, probably the later.
Henry my guy... Damn
Also we have to give props to Kalego for turning out an upstanding demon, when his father and brother are pieces of shit.

Hollow Knight Silksong. Didn't hit a wall, just spent one-too-many days wihtout playing it, and i got out of the groove, and have not got back since, (Slay the Spire 2, Hades, and other games aren't helping on that)
Which game character felt like a genuine childhood friend?

Not one character, but i'd say, my first squad of generic units on Disgaea 2 which was my first SRPG and first touchpoint with the Nippon ichi soft multiverse.... Playing 35 hours of the steam demo before i got the game with a gift card i was given on chrismas.
