Ikke noe kardemumma?

I’m really starting to understand this meme with Heated rivalry. How could one just go about with their day when all Tumblr is filled with pretty boys craving each other, I ask you.

Hva feiler det deg? Det her er av NRK og jeg kan ikke skjønne hvorfor andre lander har ikke gjort en egen version av denne. Den er så morsom serie som underviser oss også. En kjempebra serie. Jeg elsker de tre legene, spesiellt Astrid.

Nach. Jeg må rømme: jeg er for gammel for denne. Følte bare at det var kleint og rett og slett ikke morsomt.

Ølhunden Berit. Jeg hadde høye forventninger men Berit var alle jeg ventet og til og med mer. Hvilke nydelige og flinke skuespillere, spesielt Anders Baasmo og Jonas Strand Gravli. For en serie, uffameg.

Let’s start with Danish one because why not. Salsa is a Danish show about two sisters (who are played by real sisters!) and apparently seasons 1 and 2 were very well received by viewers and critics. In true Skam sense I watched only season 3 because TSM was in it and maybe that is why I really didn’t get the idea, at all. Yeah, I know that life is hard and especially it is hard when you are a young adult, but does it really have to be that hard? Like I felt that the protagonists made their life even more hard that it needed to be.

Also some plot events were a bit weird. I don’t need everything explained to me like in American tv, but why to bring up something and use time for it and then it has no meaning after that? Don’t wanna spoil anything but sex related performance challenge.

But all in all it was funny to watch a Danish show with Danish subtitles. Crazy that the written language is almost like Norwegian, but I couldn’t undertand almost anything of the dialogue.

Let’s get back to Norway. I really like Legevakten. I am an ex healthcare professional and I know that patients and scenes in the show are carefully selected and the work is not so nice and dandy all the time. But the show still makes me happy. Especially many child patients are just so lovely (and I don’t even like kids usually). The crew members in Legevakten are really adorable as well.

Etter Benjamin is really well done, true NRK quality. Can’t binge it since it makes me so sad but I enjoy one episode once a while. Good actors and really important subject. Wish it wasn’t based on true events but this is the world we live in.

This serie reminds me how Finland (or at least Nokia) conquered the world for a while. Torille!

Oslo - København interested me since as a Finn I have the cruise culture in my DNA. And seems like things in Danskebåten are really simular to our Ruotsinlaivat or Tallinn ferries. Surely I have never travelled in a suite kind of cabin but otherwise. Good actors and an interesting subjectin the film, but it left me a bit empty. Film felt also a bit streched: it could have easily been 20 minutes shorter. Too many long shots of the ferry floating away.

Ragnarok didn’t interest me at all at first because fantasy/action/whatever the genre is not my thing, but when I was looking for a new Norwegian show I could watch with spouse I gave it a go and no surprise, the beginning of the pilot with M83 and the amazing scenery and David Stakston did it for me. I enjoyed the show a lot. The ending was not a surprise for me and I have my own interpretation of it. Really nice acting by all cast and nice production. Would wanna visit Odda.

I have also watched a bit Rykter, VGS, Lykkeland but nothing to say about those.

I was fortunate to spend a couple of very hot days in Oslo a month ago and thus had an access to all the NRK series. I used the little time I spent in the hot hotel room to watch Fantomet Philip instead of trying to sleep and I am not sorry for my choice. Of course I initially wanted to watch it because of Henrik Holm, but the story was also great. It was a bit weird to see HH in that kind of role (= not playing a pretty person I mean) but I think he nailed it pretty good.

- Ingenting å le av. A movie about a stand-up comedian going thru downs and more downs. I liked this a lot! I haven’t seen Odd-Magnus Williamson in many roles but got a feeling that he has variety. Quite realistic and that way a good epiction of being sick.

- Lilyhammer. I started to watch this because it is Norwegian and acclaimed etc but I just don’t see any reason to watch it. I think I saw like 4 episodes and was waiting it to get better but unfortunately it doesn’t. Sure, good Norwegian listening material and Trond Fausa is funny and great as always, but something is missing IMHO. I might take a peak at S2 because Henriette Steenstrup but I won’t be looking the whole season even though I really loooove her.

Does it get any better? Or has time and tv just changed that much after it came out and expectations are too high nowadays?

One serie I would have wanted to check is Norsemen, but in Netflix (in Finland) there is only English audio + subtitles so probably will pass.

Jaevla homo. Journalist Gisle is trying to find out why he feels uncomfortable walking hand in hand with kjæresten sin. Well produced document but at the same time deeply personal story. In Finland can be seen in Areena. (Btw Skam mentioned!)

UT - 50 år med lovlig kjærlighet. Quite moving documentary serie about how attitudes (and laws and practices) towards homosexuality have been changed in 50 years. Skam is mentioned and has quite big part of one episode. Interesting content for all the history buffs. In Finland can be seen in Max.

Trekanten. This NRK reality serie was apparently quite a controversial piece in 2011 when it was shown. Three young Norwegians learn about sex and sexuality. Many things have changes after 2011 but I really like the forwardness of the serie. The second season with Johanna, Even and Benjamin can be seen in NRK without vpn.

Basic bitch. Norwegian comedy serie with four female protagonists. Funny and light. Special mention to Ada Eide, one of the main actors, who played the small role of Maria, the chief of russebuss RAD in Skam. In Finland can be seen in Max.

I may not know much but Skam, Skam I know. At least some of it. I’ve watched it a million times, read manuscripts and social media posts. Trust me on this.

Not only he was a founding member of AFER (The American Foundation for Equal Rights) but he also wrote a play 8 to show people what was happening in the trial overturning Proposition 8. He wrote an autobiografic Mama's Boy: A Story From Our Americas in 2019. The book honors his late mother and her strength. (Book was also adapted to a document and can be seen in HBO.) Has anyone done so much for a community in their lifetime? The impact DLB has had on LQBTQ rights, visibility and equality is enormous. He makes me feel really inadequate since what have I ever done for anything. But also he inspires me to try to understand others, try to be better, try to build bridges instead of hating and running to my cave. What an incredible person.

What if told you that there are live, really people who do videos with the best innuendos and jokes and love and everything and just kill me with their everything?

Please let me introduce Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black, the best real couple ever. I have a feeling I have got younger for the past weeks after discovering Tom (who just retired as a diver who participated to five Olympic games) and watching his videos and giggling like a maniac. Especially the ones with spouse Lance (Oscar-winning filmmaker) are just awesome. Or ’eggcellent’ like Tom might say.

Not gonna add their image here because first of all seeing them for the first time was one of the times in my life when I wanted to rip my eyes off to not see anything again after seeing something so beautiful. And also I simply couldn’t choose just one or two images of them.

I am not very good person or sharing the love and good things as much as I would like, but this is me sharing the love. Go and fall in love with these two and their family, it will make your life better.
