It’s been years, if not ever, since I made something that I fell in love with and couldn’t give it up. This is one of those times. I am awestruck! Best piece I have ever made. I’m in the process of transforming my business to better represent my growth and development through the past few years. I have been playing with art since I was young and have delved into any art form I could find. In college I studied ceramics and oceanography as my two main passions. As things shifted I decided to learn more about farming and homesteading which is what I began studying and traveling to learn. Ceramics has always been my favorite but it’s been hard to keep up since I was moving and traveling so much! Now that I’ve taken some space to sit and meditate in one space I can grow back into pottery with new clay, new glaze and new techniques! I love the community studio I have become a part of, I have been in and out for years and I finally took the plunge and made a 4 month commitment and I have been taking it quite seriously! I chose to challenge myself by creating 30 mugs in 30 days and far surpassed what I thought I could do! Ending with 37 total (of which 31 are good quality- and didn’t have any cracks or glaze errors!!) They are all slabbed and hand made without a wheel and then glazed in a tedious multi step process! Next up is bowls! And slowly I will build up a nice set to have all my kitchen goodies match! Stay tuned! Nothing like a good hike in the foothills and some fresh air. Though this was from last week before it was crazy muddy after the rain and snow we just got. 🌲🌲🌲 The amount of people who normally see my posts has been cut in half! Yayyyy for mugs, so proud to have accomplished such a great set of 30 colorful mugs in less than 30 days! All unique but all a cohesive set! Simple on the outside just the dark raw clay and the white contrast of the pretty patterns. With a myriad of shiny colors on the inside. Greens, blues, purples and pinks!! There is a filter on these photos but it is more realistic than the original due to the fluorescent lights! I’m really pumped to do a photo shoot of these!
