Tensions ran hot just like the kiss they were sharing right now. Neji Hyuuga, a proud and modest man, was weak at the knees for the one and only Sasuke Uchiha.

One kiss became multiple kisses; sloppy and hungry. The kind of kisses that are only shared between intimate lovers.... But intimate lovers they certainly were not.

Tongues fought one another as they knew this would be their only night together; which was true. They weren't supposed to be together, but they were both hungry for it. Mad after it.

It seemed as though Neji's life was always full of surprises lately: First, he beat death with the help of an unlikely ally named Karin Uzumaki. Then he started dating the Uzumaki woman, and pretty soon they were wed after two years of dating. She helped in fighting to abolish the use of the curse seal used in the Hyuuga clan, and they one. His forehead brand was gone in a matter of minutes.

But the biggest surprise, was the birth of his fraternal twins: Kimiko, the oldest girl who was the spitting image of her father and Nagisa, the red-headed Hyuga.

The girls were 12 now and their little family had grown since then. Neji and Karin have 5 children all together. Three girls and two boys.

Now, as he celebrated his birthday with his family on the beach, he can't help but look back on his life. If all that he had went through, would lead to this all over again? He would live through it multiple times. He smiled fondly with his wife while their children were at play with their seven cousins from Sasuke and Hinata.

Naruto said he would always be there for Neji, and he meant it. He was there when he learned the truth about the Hyuuga clan. He was there when he helped Neji expose it to the world. They tried to get Sasuke back home together, nearly dying in the process. They were just boys back then...

They've laughed, cried, fought, and yes, they've kissed. Multiple times as a matter of fact, right under everyone's noses.

Even now, Naruto sat by his healing boyfriend of 3 years. Naruto was known for being wild and reckless, guess some of that rubbed off onto Neji during the war. He never felt so scared in all his life. He nearly lost the man he loved, but if anyone could save him, it would be Sakura and Granny Tsunade. He was in a coma at first, but then was able to open his eyes.

One year, they've been together one full year. Where did the time go?

For Neji, it was a labor of love being with Ino. They got together when they were sophomores in college. Ino is a Psychology major while Neji is a Criminal Justice major. They'd always have early morning chats at the local café before classes. Eventually, it turned into multiple conversations throughout the day until Ino made the first move. He had to admit, it was pretty bold, but she was naturally like that and Neji loved that about her, along with many other things too.

Their circles of friends were basically rooting for them to get together from the sidelines. Tenten and Shikamaru especially playing both sides. It was a bit funny seeing how they got together around the same time he and Ino did.

So much blood has been spilled in her life, it was hard to believe the war was truly over. Many nights were plagued with night terrors, replaying over and over the horrors she endured. Dreams of sorrow, mourning for Yahiko and Nagato... If they could see her now...

For days she would cry in silence alone, she didn't want anyone to see her in such a state...

But then there was Shizune...

Shizune, who saw past the blood, the anger, her pain. Kind and compassionate Shizune, who only gave her love and intimacy. Lord knows she doesn't deserve her, and yet Shizune loved her anyway.

Speaking of, Konan felt her presence when Shizune sat beside her and held her hand.
