Can we just apreciate how much Keith has grown in this season.

I mean not only is he 20 now but like his character has also changed. I don’t get why people say the 2 years away were so bad, I mean he had two years to catch up with his mom, two years to learn from her, two years to rethink his actions and start making a diference. And when he finally came back he grew so much not only physicaly and we can tell just by how he acted with Shiro trying to kill him, I mean he was so calm and trying to talk to him, and you could even see it in the way he was fighting. We could see it when he was giving orders from the black lion to form Voltron, I mean last season they where a mess because Keith wasn’t ready but now it’s so different. He is not that same edgy teen that “shoots first and ask questions later” And that’s when you see that “patience yields focus” really stayed with him and has taken it to heart.

The thought of how much character development Keith went through the in this season makes me want to cry.

Krolia’s line on Shiro “raising” Keith is not literal

I’ve gotten a few asks about this, and I keep seeing antis harp on this line, so we’re gonna take a closer look at it.

This is definition of raise I see the antis using: to care for a child or young animal until it is able to take care of itself.

This doesn’t fit the situation. Shiro was not Keith’s guardian, he wasn’t a parental figure, he was not literally responsible for Keith’s well being. That fell to Keith’s actual guardians, be they the Garrison, the employees at the home, or Keith’s case worker. These were the people that kept Keith fed and clothed and safe.

This definition also implies a kind of helplessness on Keith’s part. That Keith relied entirely on Shiro, and that’s just not the kind of relationship they have, or ever had. Shiro was a mentor sure, a role model definitely, but there is a difference from being someone’s hero and being literally responsible for their needs. Shiro cares, of course he does, and you can bet he did everything he could to be there for Keith if and when the system failed him, but he was in no position to step into the role of guardian and he knew it.

That is not the only definition of raise though. There is another one that fits better: to bring somebody up to do something.

This definition is about supporting and teaching, and I think it fit’s perfectly. Krolia doesn’t say, “Thank you for raising my son.” She says, “Thank you for raising my son to be the man he is today.” The distinction is important. She is not thanking him for raising her son in the literal sense (tbh if that were the case I think he’d get more than a casual Galra handshake), no, she is thanking him for all he taught her son. She is thanking him for believing in Keith and supporting him and his dreams.

So yeah, I don’t care if y’all interpret this line differently, but quit sending me asks about it because you won’t change my mind.

Anime North is done and I feel lonely at home tbh 😭😅 This was definitively the highlight of my year! A face paint booth stopped me and asked if she could put glitter on my face and it made it look better *^* • I went with my dad on Friday.
