Why did the caged bird sing? Because the seat of the soul is beautiful. We chase that beauty and try to capture it in our lives. Beauty can not be defined as God can not. That is what artists do. Chase beauty and try to capture it, render it, represent it. Some of the adept artists spent their lives chasing the beauty of a single concept, only to fall short every time. The quest never satisfied. Beauty can not be captured. The photograph falls short. Beauty is a communion with God, a moment felt. A pure feeling that sparks a cascade of reactions, thoughts, responses. The caged bird sings because the beauty is in experiencing the sound of its own voice, the seat of the soul. The beauty is in the totality of the experience from its own point of view. From the bird’s perspective, it is beauty. It sees no cage. Thus is the nature of the soul when it speaks. I am a high spirit that creates in the realm of #housewifery. What I make comes from need (function) or my perception of my needs. I needed a space to put my yarns, so I can feel worthy to use the wool, silk, cotton and rayon yarn (my dream and highest need for my fiber art and Töki Hats) that has been sitting for years while I opted to use the acrylic storebought craft yarn because of its abundance. I didn’t understand that I was creating lack by not using what I had with gratitude. I desire what I perceive as high art. I kept myself from it. A simple basket represents the seat of my soul. A form to hold and house my heart’s desires. A form I can sing my love into. A household object that I can hold space for what I need, what I love, what I perceive as important to me right now. This is an offering to nurture myself in honor of my talents. And it is quite practical. Now I have four beautiful hand painted baskets to organize and prioritize my yarn, moving it out of the realm of collection (fear of loss) into abundance; a trust that I will have everything that I need. I sing like the sparrow. #radical #house #wifery #housewifery #radicalhousewifery #housewife #Iamthesparrow #whythecagedbirdsings #baskets #weaving #painting #creativityasaspiritualpractice #silverandgoldalchemy #twinflame
