I already have space rats, I'm trying to make an endling species, or rather, many documented species classified as endling species, they are usually sapient, and are acutely aware of their status as the last of their kind.
Also, Opossums are a species native to the real world, space opossums isn't what I'm going for, even if I have space rodentia already, more or less.
