Hiya hiyaya! I'm here with another short story! An Hyunjin-centric one, of course! And angsty as usual.
Damn. I should really continue writing my unfinished fanfics instead of posting these! And it's my exam week too. Well. Anyways. First time posting one of my omegaverse ideas! Yeeey!
I love the idea of omega Hyunjin and his 7 alphas. Perfect.
Disclaimer: The characters in this fiction is only a inspiration from the real life people. I don't mean any harm to any of them.
“Enough!” Hyunjin roared, “You two going to solve this! On your own!” He said sternly after Minho gave an incredulous look at him, “I don't care if you think I’m being rude and that you are going to air fry me! You are acting like a child! And don't start me on Chan hyung!” He glared at the man, “You are going to calm down, get into that room, sit down, talk one at a time, apologize and gonna solve this. Do you understand?”
Minho and Chan looked at him like kicked puppies but Hyunjin didn't care, they were acting like 5-year-olds and Hyunjin had enough.
“Go!” He roared again as the two looked at him for a moment and they spring into action.
After he heard the sound of a closing door, he exhaled tiredly and returned to cooking an edible meal because everybody was busy watching the conflict!
Jisung whistled, “Wow, Hyunnie, you tamed the hyungs!”
He glared at Jisung, “Less talk, more work.” He said.
Jisung saluted him, “Sir, yes sir!”
After an hour the two eldest emerged from the room and trudged towards the kitchen sheepishly.
“We figured it out.” Chan mumbled towards Hyunjin, Minho nodding beside him.
“Good.” Hyunjin commented, “The dinner is almost ready, have a seat.”
Chan and Minho looked at him like lost puppies but Hyunjin didn't pay any mind to them, “Can you get Binnie-hyung and Innie, Lixie?”
“Of course.” Felix nodded as he took off.
“Jinnie?” Minho called, surprisingly from the elder, nervous.
“Hmm?” Hyunjin hummed, chopping the vegetables for the salad.
“Are you mad?” Chan gulped, wringing his fingers together.
“Of course not.” Hyunjin answered, still not looking at them, “Min, can you finish this, I want to take a quick shower before dinner.”
“Yes, Hyunie.” Seungmin said, taking his place as Hyunjin outed the kitchen.
A silence followed his exit until Seungmin spoke, “You guys are stupid sometimes, even though you are the eldest ones.”
“Yeah,” Jisung said at the same time Minho let out a, “Yah!”
“What do you mean?” Chan asked, confused.
“What is the date today, hyung?” Seungmin asked, looking at them.
Minho looked at the calendar on his phone, “June 12th. Why?”
Jisung sighed, “You guys…” he said disappointedly, “You guys promised him a week ago, remember? When he asked you guys to be at home for dinner, for once and not at work and you guys promised him that today we are all gonna eat together.”
Chan and Minho stared at him a little shocked.
“He has been looking into recipes to cook for a week now. To make today special he woke up so fucking early, hyung.” Seungmin said a little annoyedly at them, “But you guys just kept fighting and fighting all day.”
“We are a little mad about it too, hyung.” Jisung said as he finished setting the table, “You promised to all of us too technically but you forgot and made Hyunjinnie sad.” He said, looking disappointed, “So, I’m mad too. He has been waiting for tonight for days and he planned so much.”
“I totally forgot.” Minho said, putting a hand to his mouth, “Shit.”
“I don't even remember promising that…” Chan said, looking close to tears.
“I’m not surprised, you guys have been working too much and we appreciate it. Hyunjin appreciates it too but he also wants you to take a break and he wants to see you, spend time with you. We all do, honestly but he has been a little stressed these days and needs you much more, I think.” Jisung said, looking at Seungmin, “He has been so clingy these days, like he is afraid to be away from us and not seeing you guys much really affected him.”
Seungmin nodded, “I think he has something troubling him but he doesn't tell us how much we ask him so we just try to stay in his circle. He is really agitated.”
“He is trying to complete his nest.” Felix said as he made his way to the table, “Trying to bring us together unconsciously since we have been all too busy.”
“I think he misses us.” Jeongin said, yawning, “He misses us all together.”
The more they talked the more the two eldest looked sad.
“Hyung,” Seungmin said, his face softening, “We are not saying these to make you feel worse. We just missed you. Especially Hyunjin and we want you guys to understand that we know you work hard but you can rest.”
Jisung nodded, “Yes, that, and don't make Hyunjinnie more sad, please. He worked hard for today.”
“Aww, come on, Jisungie!” Changbin cooed, coming closer to them, “Don't make them feel bad! You are just feeling a little protective over Jinnie, calm down.”
Jisung huffed but didn't say anything, sitting at the table and waiting for the omega to return.
“He is right to be mad at us, Binnie.” Chan said, rubbing his neck, “We messed up.”
Minho let out a long sigh, “I hate this. We need to make it up to him. And to you guys.” He said.
Seungmin smiled, “That's all we ask.”
It was the time when Hyunjin emerged from the hallway with his hair wet. He let out a happy sigh when he saw everyone sitting on the table waiting for him.
“Oh my!” He let out, “This is how I imagined it!”
Felix laughed, “This is not our first time eating all together, Jinnie.”
“Yes,” he pouted, “But it has been forever!” He said as he sat down too.
“Let’s eat!” He clapped his hands, reaching for the pot and removing the lid for all of them to eat, “I made so many things so that we can eat some leftovers later too. So, don't hold back! Dig in!”
“Jinnie!” Changbin exclaimed, “This is perfect!”
“You really outdone yourself, hyung!” Jeongin commented.
“I just followed a recipe, guys. Don't sweat it.” Hyunjin said with a dismissed hand.
“That's not true,” Minho said, “Even if you follow a recipe, this still needs practice, Hyunjin. This is a delicious meal, thank you for your hard work.”
Hyunjin looked stunned for a moment, looking at him shocked.
“Yeah, Hyun.” Chan said, nodding, “This is such a wonderful meal you made for us. I appreciate it, thank you."
Hyunjin looked at the both of them for a moment before nodding, “Yeah, sure, I’m glad you are enjoying it.”
Minho and Chan looked heartbroken at the short response but they let it go.
They all chatted happily while eating. Hyunjin supported a very happy smile through the entire meal, listening more than talking. Just happy to be there with everyone else. His alphas.
“Thank you.” He blurted out suddenly, making everyone stop their conversations and look at him for a moment.
He looked shocked to have said it out loud, “Ah, sorry for bringing the mood down. I just… feel grateful. You all made time for me, to eat a silly dinner because I demanded it.” He said with a soft laugh, “I’m sorry for being needy too, I just missed us all being together all the time. Doing things together or just eating a meal together.” He looked at them with the happiness of a man who had everything he ever wanted in front of him, “So, thank you.” He bowed his head a little.
A stunned silence overtook the room before it burst.
“Jinnie! This is the bare minimum! Don't bow to us!” Jisung exclaimed, scandalized.
“We love you, of course we are gonna make time for you! You telling us this is proof that we are all shitty alphas!” Jeongin let out, frustrated.
“We love you! So much! We need to make more time for you!” Felix burst out.
“Don't bow to us, Hyunjinnie! Don't thank us either! We neglected you a lot, didn't we?!” Changbin said, looking heartbroken as well.
“We are sorry we work too much, Hyun. I will fix it, I promise.” Chan said, looking determined.
“You must be feeling lonely, Jinnie. I will make up for the times I neglected you.” Minho said, looking a little sad but looked determined as well.
“Would you like me to quit my job?” Seungmin asked with seriousness.
Hyunjin looked at them a little surprised, not expecting the outburst.
“No! Guys! No!” He said, flailing his hands, “I didn't mean it like that! I work too! And I’m busy too, it's not just you guys who have been neglecting!”
“So you do admit that we neglected you.” Minho said.
