I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in forever! I got really busy with school. When I was warned that this year would be the hardest, I should’ve believed them..

Why loving yourself before you love others is important:

Self acceptance can lead to greater satisfaction with your life. And if you alone can make yourself happy you’ll be able to coexist with another individual instead of depending solely on them and relying on them for every ounce of happiness in your life. (You’ll also be better off if one day the relationship comes to an end).

Self compassion may help ease mental health issues. If you take the time to learn to love yourself through all of your fuck ups (that everyone experiences as well) then there is a reduced risk of worsened depression and anxiety. Understand you’re only human and love yourself for it. When you can better handle your mental health it makes it a little easier on your future S/O.
