in regard to resources i use to find inspo, images, etc. i will list them all down below!
pinterest - this is my most used site for when i need both resources and inspo! i save a bunch of inspo into this board and whilst i do have boards for pngs div material overlays etc. i tend to search up pngs more often.
twitter/x - not as commonly used as pinterest but i still use twt for inspo as there are some rlly pretty gfxs that people make c: twt is also just a good place to find hd pics of idols from update accs n there are also deco accs that reside there!!
instagram (+ tiktok? maybe?) - i get a buuuunch of inspo from here n very helpful tutorials which ive seen both cater towards ps/photopea and ibispaint!! i would recommend following @/willbeok.png, @/sab._.design, @/ihavekitsch, @/theconestudio, @/annaeunbin, and @/cheec0re on ig :3
weverse - if a group has weverse i do recommend grabbing imgs from there bc they will very much be hd nodnod
texturelabs - i kinda discovered this a few days ago and it has actually changed my life. genuinely. this site is super useful for grabbing overlays and textures for your design and ive been using them in pretty much everything
rentry.co - there are several rentry resource sites that have a tonnn of pngs, pixels, overlays, etc. most of the time the resources are more catered towards rentry sites rather than graphics and headers but they are definitely usable! a few sites i use: .co/horrere, .co/rsrcs, .co/crusher, .co/ulquiorra
frutigeraeroarchive - this site is incredible for when you want to make a header that leans towards this style. there is a bunch of pngs that you can get if you navigate to the resources section (in the main content group)
da-lace - has a bunch of lace material in the shape of rectangles, hearts, circles, etc. is however in a solid colour so if you need to i would recommend adding overlays if you want a more realistic finish
when it comes to making the headers, its known i use photopea. i fear everyone alr knows. but thats my husband my wife my everything i love photopea. if you have photoshop/ps thats also good!! it works the exact same as photopea but it just costs money and to me its more difficult to navigate. if you want a more mobile-compatible software i know many that use ibispaint x and sometimes even canva! there are several tutorials out there that cater towards both. other softwares i use to assist with the header-making process are below!
pixelcut - to remove the bg of pngs. other sites such as remove.bg + iloveimg also work!
ezgif - VERY helpful for making gifs
to be fair its hard to rlly come up w tips bc im always doing smth slightly different every time but i will provide these:
1 . when placing pngs, i always go w the largest most prominent ones first and then gradually go smaller to fill in gaps. i am absolutely insane abt this where sometimes i genuinely just add placeholder blobs of various sizes everywhere until im happy w the layout and then i add the pngs on top. this really does help if you want to fill as much as possible or if you want a balanced out header
2 . not sure if this smth anyone else does but when i make my headers or even just mbds in gen i HATEEEE IT when 2 images/pngs of the same/similar colour touch. its a horrible feeling i get visceral when i do that. i always need the 2 colours to be separate though i do think it helps me w my headers as it evenly distributes the colour.
3 . do not be afraid to experiment and practise!!!!!!!! i love looking at tuts on insta and replicating them on photopea to see how well theyd look w stuff i tend to do. bc of this ive discovered so many features and websites i never knew existed and it also allows you to explore your own style.
