Also I love love LOVE the idea of MoM/Demyx being a phoenix or a peacock. Both really fit him imo. Phoenix the most, probably, but anyway.

I think I already explained it a little in my Missing Link prediction video. I have a feeling that's where we would've learned a lot about Brain. Here's that video if you haven't seen it yet. I feel like it's a pretty strong theory because it makes so much sense with everything that we currently know, but there's always a chance there's something we just don't know yet which could throw it off. Anyway, in summary, it involves time travel and body-swapping. I don't think I mentioned this in my video, but Brain looks a lot like Machina from Type-0, who Lean refers to as "the other me." In timelines where Machina isn't a part of Class Zero, Lean takes his place. I get the feeling that that comparison is why Brain and Luxu feel like counterparts or reflections of each other.

If MoM/Demyx and Luxu had masks, what do you think they'd be and why?

I was to say that Luxu is a goat... Xehanort already has goat imagery, but that doesn't mean Luxu can't ALSO be a goat. He could even be a lamb.

There was actually a preview for the Character Files book that had a sample of Xigbar's story which ended up being completely different in the final release. In that sample, he made reference to the children's song "Yagi-san Yuubin" (The Goats' Mail) to refer to himself and Luxord. I feel like I must have saved it... It might be worth sharing that again. The song is about two goats who keep sending each other letters. The white goat sends the black goat a letter, but the black goat eats it before he reads it. So he sends a letter back to the white goat, asking him what his letter said. The white goat eats that letter without reading it and sends one to the black goat asking what it said. etc, etc. It becomes an endless back and forth, the meaning of the original letter having been lost as the two keep foolishly asking each other the same question. (The structure is similar to the "This is the song that never ends" song. lol) To be hooonest, I feel like it strengthens my theory that Luxord is Braaain... The two of them may have both been swapping bodies and the song was perhaps meant to represent the fact that they can't recognize each other anymore. Just a thought!

If he's supposed to be like Lean from Type-0/Agito, then a white tiger like Byakko is also a possibility.

For the same reason, I feel like MoM should be a phoenix like Suzaku. Especially if Demyx is a young version of him or a reincarnation, it works with the phoenix's connection to "rebirth." I'm also open to him being a lion for its connection to "pride." Alternatively, instead of a phoenix, he could be a peacock, which also has associations with pride and vanity.

Anyway, I apologize if this gets covered later in the video, it's been a WHILE since I've been hyperfixated on KH (and thus a while since I watched this video) and I have a really bad memory lol, but I had to add that this also reminds me a bit about how the members of Organization XIII perceived Xion's face differently, particularly in some of the reports (I'm having a brain fart on the name of the reports, but you'll probably know which ones I'm talking about). For example, Xigbar saw Xion as Ventus instead of the face we all commonly associate with, well, Xion.

Very true! It made me think of Xion, too. In fact, I've been thinking about that particular theory again recently because of the new KH4 trailer. I started to think that theory might've been nothing, but then Ava mentioned how they gave form to the darkness in Quadratum. That could mean that their perception of darkness literally has a tangible effect on the world of Quadratum. A very similar idea, imo.

I've also been thinking about what might have happened to Yozora and the Nameless Star. The Nameless Star girl being completely "erased" also reminds me of Xion and how everyone forgot about her when Sora's memories were returned to him.

It's also similar to the Oblivion of Death from Type-0, the power of the Crystal which makes people forget the ones who die. I did have a theory that there was a Crystal in the black box. lol Regardless of whether they're a Crystal or not, it's possible that someone might have that kind of power in the world of fiction. I recall one of Sora's new abilities being called something like "Scrap and Build", so perhaps something about the nature of Quadratum allows people from the real world to create and erase things within the fictional world, as if they were a writer or artist creating a piece of fiction.

It's been my theory since KHII that something is off with Demyx- his dialogue has always been strange, like he knows more than he says. And his unusual strength plays into that. There's a scene with him and Vexen in KH3 that seemed odd too. Vexen talks about "men like us- in the pursuit of science" and says he wants to atone. Demyx glares for a second when Vexen is turned. It's like the mask dropped, like he was mad at being "exposed" as a 'man of science', as something other than the incompetent fool. Or he doesn't like the idea of atoning. Possibly thinking there's nothing to atone for if he's anything like Jack.

Anyway, I just wanted to say bravo!! You got me SO excited for KH4, even more so than the trailers 💗

I actually made a post about that Vexen and Demyx scene a little while ago. Here's that if you're interested.

In Japanese, the MoM tells Xehanort that he could refer to himself as "Jack" or "Taro." Obviously, I think that "Jack" could be a blatant reference to Jack from Agito XIII/Type-0, but the two names are also common names of characters in fairytales.

One such fairytale is the story of Urashima Taro. The protagonist, Taro, rescues a turtle on the beach. The turtle brings him to the Dragon Palace under the sea where he meets the princess, Otohime. For his kindness to the turtle, Otohime entertains him for several days and he has a great time. When it's time for him to leave, she gives him a box called the tamate-bako and tells him to never open it. Upon returning to the surface, Taro discovers that he was actually gone for over 100 years, and all of his friends and family are dead. In his grief, he opens the box and rapidly ages into an old man, the box having contained all the time that he spent under the sea.

You may have heard the story in various anime and games. I was just reminded of it while playing FFXIV's Stormblood, where you're tasked with finding the tamate-bako in one questline.

I feel like this pairs well with my theory that Demyx is the young version of the MoM. The box could contain time or his memories - something that would "age" him. If the MoM told Luxu that the box would age whoever opens it, perhaps that's why Luxu reacted with "But why?!"

Ava says that the darkness was given form once they (presumably the Foretellers) arrived in Quadratum. I believe that the Darkness is following them specifically. We know that it would follow the MoM relentlessly no matter where he went, and he was hoping that he could finally escape from it if he went outside of reality.

The Darkside and the other Heartless appear to be more human-like in Quadratum. It makes me wonder if this Darkside is so gigantic because its form was based on someone in specific - someone very strong - like the MoM. If that's true, its appearance might be a hint towards what the MoM looks like.

You may notice that it doesn't have the "tentacles" that usually cover a Darkside's head and face. Instead, it has some "hair" that falls over its face and spiky hair on top. (I'm trying so hard not to say that it looks like Jack's hair. I truly might be hallucinating. I see Jack in everything.) Even if its features don't end up being unique, I think its sheer size will be; I doubt that every Darkside we encounter in KH4 will be the size of Godzilla like this one.

It isn't the first notably unusual Darkside we've seen...

"It looks different from other Darksides Sora has battled with, but the cause remains a mystery."

Even the journal points out its strangeness. This mystery has plagued me for a long time. I feel like most people forgot about this or just shrugged and never thought it was that important to begin with.

Why did this Darkside from the Final World look so different? It's either made of light and darkness -- or water, since it seems to be see-through.

Anyway, based on how difficult the battle against this Darkside seems to be, I don't think Sora will be able to defeat it by himself. Is that when Xehanort steps in? Or will the MoM himself take it down?

Assuming that this is Sigurd, I do think that this could be Luxu in yet another body.

In the first Missing Link trailer, we heard Sigurd's voice. However, when we heard him again in the first KH4 trailer, he sounded completely different; same voice, but his tone had changed and become much darker. I don't think that Luxu was the one in the black coat, covering the eye of the No Name in that first trailer. Rather, that was probably Brain who had accepted the keyblade from him. In short, I think that we would have probably met the real Sigurd in the beginning, but then he would have gotten taken over by Luxu.

So. Since Xehanort can apparently look like his younger self in Quadratum, I think it's possible that Luxu could assume any form he's taken in the past.

Also, I'm pretty sure his eyes are yellow...? Since Luxu's eyes were still yellow at the end of KH3, I think that's just one of his traits now rather than a sign of "norting."

Luxord’s Suit buttons have Phoenix imagery on them, ik its not the exact same as Rubrum’s but VERY ODD.
