finding-minhee:
Ā Ā Ā Slender legs dangled off the edge, orange painted toes swirling around in the cold water. The blunt that rested between her fingers was brought to her mouth before her eyes moved towards the midnight sky. āI used to think that the stars were people their souls yāknow? Like, dead people. Yeah.ā Her words werenāt making any sense and Minhee wasnāt entirely sure what she was trying to say either. A fog filled mind certainly didnāt help to make it any clearer. āFucking aliens, man.ā A laugh escaped her, nose scrunching up lightly. āBet theyāre just aliens. Nothing poetic about it. Just aliens.ā
The taller the structure, the better ā that seemed to be Ivyās new philosophy. The thinner the ledge, the better. The more dangerous ā ah yes! ā the better. How sheād ended up beside the stranger, she wasnāt quite sure, but the company was welcomed. Escapism⢠was always welcomed, especially when drugs were involved!Ā āYāknow that myth? The one about the dude trying to perfectly align the stars, fucking up? That was my personal favorite belief for, like, maybe eight years?ā she replied, pointing towards the sky.Ā āThen it changed to thatĀ ātheyāre just dying balls of lightā which is actually really fucking depressing when you think about it,ā she continued, drawing her hand back to the ledge.Ā āBut nah, I like the alien theory. You gotta wonder, though ā if they ever came to Earth and asked us to take them to our leader, whoād we take them to?ā In spite of her open-ended question, she had a firm belief that they were meant to take them to DwayneĀ āThe Rockā Johnson.

I swear sheās not dead, but sheās never coming back again.
(via noteasilyforgotten)
never better. / / ivy & mina.
Moments like these were exactly when Mina realised how her life had become completely screwed up. The lies were all a tangled mess and she found herself wishing she hadnāt been such a coward, that she wasnāt lying to basically everyone she ever cared about. This wasnāt the life she was supposed to live, right? Ivy was her friend yet she did nothing to help her, even when Mina knew she could. She had the money, she knew she could help her friend n some ways but this was Sanaās friend and those lines couldnāt possibly blurred. Not when there was too much a stake.Ā
āYeah, about a week from now,ā Mina nodded in confirmation, trying to keep her focus on the other but the reminder of the otherās current state was something that made her heart clench. She didnāt wish it upon the other, but this was the truth, this was Ivyās life and this was hers. Two different worlds.Ā āAlright,ā she nodded lightly, showing the other a smile. It was the first one of the encounter and Mina wished it hadnāt come across so hesitantly.Ā āI donāt really have food in here yet, but if you want I could get you some coffee or tea?ā
There was a question of whether it was a matter of time until Ivyās life took a turn for the better or if the path she was going down would just keep descending. The latter was more likely ā she lost the drive to find stable housing, an actual job, a regular life on her own. Whatever happened to her in her life, she figured itād just... happen by its own volition. And, really, who would she be to actually ask someone for stable housing? ask someone for a job? ask advice for a regular life? Thereād been one exception when it came to the housing, but itād always been more of aĀ āwalk-inā deal than anĀ āaskingā deal ā an unspoken agreement. Thatād ceased when they left.
There was, however, the hospitality of others. Hospitality wasnāt found everywhere in Brighton, but there were some certain places where people seemed to show more Heart⢠than others. Moreover, what was even better than hospitality was gaining the knowledge of the general vicinity of time. Going off of what Sanaās evil twin the other told her, she supposed it was somewhere around the 13th-15th.Ā āThis place is gonna be pretty... nice, yeah? It looks really... nice.ā Ah, how she wanted to use the word āepicā! When the woman, still much akin to Hannah Montana another person she knew, made an offer, her default answer came in.Ā āNah ā nah, Iām good, thanks.ā Nice. "So... is this, like, your first restaurant?ā Obvious question in retrospect, but it was nice inside. What a great way to stall time! (and also analyze her counterpart because boy howdy)

never better. / / ivy & mina.
Tugging her coat tighter around her frame, Mina studied Ivy. God, she really was off better, that much was certain. She knew Ivy was much more addicted to the different types of intoxication they had often basked in the nights spent together, but she didnāt quite realize the effect it had on the other. She hadnāt expected to find Ivy on a bench looking rather⦠well, like a mess. The way she had been viewing her own had had caused the brunetteās brows to furrow, honestly not understanding at all why it would be interesting but then realization kicked in. She probably still was on drugs. Or was she just odd? Mina couldnāt quite tell.
The apology spilling from Ivyās lips caused a small pang in her chest, honestly feeling bad for sending her āfriendā away. Did she even have anywhere to go? Mina wasnāt sure and when the other asked about the restaurant, she found herself contemplating to let the other in, perhaps sharing some of the breakfast and coffee she had picked up at the cafĆ© that morning. Though she was wary about such an idea, not willing to risk anyone figuring out about the truth. Sana was a shadow, not something she needed to be associated with.Ā āIt is yeah, itās going to open the 22nd,ā she gave a light smile before her eyes darted towards the venue, proud of how far she had come with the project.Ā āWould you like to see?ā The words had escaped her before she even realized, adjusting the strap of her bag on her shoulder briefly before diverting her gaze back to Ivy again.
The second Ivy was sober was the second Hell melted after freezing over. Of course, there was a problem that laid within that fact: drugs were expensive. Alone, heroin didnāt cost much, but when it became a habit, it was more than Ivy normally had on hand. Ranging from $150-200 for habitual use, it was safe to say she had to use other methods. After a while, the high was no longer a high, rather a part of her personality. Those five days that she was clean in February were the bleakest possible ā hell, sheād take sleeping on a bench everyday over that. That brought her back to the present situation, brought her back to paying attention to the woman in front of her whoād asked if sheād move off the bench. Nice.
She could place a finger on who the other woman looked like; she looked like a soda-pop version of Sana. While she couldāve brought it up, at least said that the other looked like someone she knew, she figured it wasnāt the time or place ā not yet, at least. Perhaps sometime later that day, perhaps sometime in the future if she ran into the woman again, perhaps never; it all depended on the situation at hand. The twenty-second... what day was it? How long ago had she lost time?Ā āSo thatās ā yeah, thatās pretty... soon.ā In truth, the only reason sheād so much as responded to that remark instead of some gesture was in an attempt to get how many days and/or weeks away it was. Of course, when the other offered to show her the restaurant, Ivy was in no place to turn down the offer, figuring itād occupy her time.Ā āYeah, yeah, thatād be ā thatād be awesome.ā Such exuberance over a restaurant! Amazing.
BRIGHTON TASK #12: IN-CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE
never better. / / ivy & mina.
Just a few more days. A few more days until the opening of the restaurant, until she could prove to other people that yes, she was capable of running her own business. A few days until she could make her parents proud once again but most important, herself. Keys were jingling within her grasp as she made her way to the venue, wanting to check if everything had been settled according to pan the day before, just a little check to ensure things were perfect. They had to be.
Though when she neared the restaurant, she noticed a figured on the bench across it. The blue hair was unmistakably Ivyās and Mina could already feel the sigh escape her lips. She couldnāt deal with this, not right now. Mina wished she could state in all honesty that she was surprised about Ivyās current predicament but really, she wasnāt. Careful eyes watched the other, weary of the fact that Ivy might be able to recognise her, thought that chance was very slim.Ā āExcuse, but Iām gonna have to ask you to move,ā her voice was stern, as if she had no clue who the other person was. As if they had never shared their evenings, drinks and dark thoughts. Mina didnāt know Ivy, Sana did.
God knows that if Ivy kept up her charades, sheād either end up homeless, in some sort of place to āimprove her way of lifeā (thatād cost money she didnāt have), or dead. In addition, they could all coexist and move in that exact order. The future was relatively easy to tell; the present wasnāt. She was never completely sure of what irony was, but it seemed as though that fit the card. If the present could change, couldnāt the future? Perhaps that was why she never seemed to change anything, she could see the outcome of everything she was doing. Why change it?
Still lying on the bench, she wasnāt planning to leave anytime soon. She had nowhere else to be, nothing better to do than watch her hand with keen interest, and no one to see. It was rare that she had someone to see. RIP. Her hand-watching was interrupted by a womanās voice, one that sounded fairly familiar, but nothing she could place on the spot. Looking up at the woman, there was also something fairly familiar there... but nothing she could place immediately...Ā āYeah... yeah, sorry... yeah,ā she replied, sitting up. Evicted from a bench! If she had a scrapbook of lows, not only would it be full, but sheād request an image of this to be taken. āIs this... like, your place?ā she asked, nodding to the building behind her. Although she normally wouldāve left on cue, becoming less and less a fan of socializing, there was something... familiar. Perhaps it was the drugs (then again, she had become very seasoned in that area), or perhaps it was just the situation. Stay tuned to find out!

@seo-minaā
the last time ivy actually had a stable place to sleep was beyond her ā somewhere back in the previous winter. there were loose threads involving that situation, ones that she no longer believed would ever be tied up. naturally, her m/o devolved into looking for nights to spend with strangers. it had moved from a house to a motel to another house ā that of which had never been her own ā to the homes and apartments of strangers.Ā
the previous being said, her current place ofĀ āresidencyā for the night made great sense if she was going to work retrograde. having forgotten to pick someone up, she wound up on a nice area: a bench. amazing. what proved to be even more amazing was how she was still on that bench. the night had come to a close, but she was stagnant on the bench. perhaps it was because she had nothing better to do (and, in reality, nothing to do at all), perhaps it was because watching her hand had proven incredibly entertaining. either way and in any case, she was still there. wild.
