Hi! Thank you so much for the ask, sorry it took me so long! I wanted to try and draw something for it but I’m trying to work on the next part ^^

That definitely does happen a lot, mainly with hallucinations with his father, mom, and young Rosi! For older Corazon there is a reason he sees him like he does. Along with there being a reason for the mask only older Corazon wears!

The second theory was that the subconscious part of Doflamingo's brain denies Rocinante himself, maybe he forgets his face. The real version is for him an end in itself, pure and innocent before his younger brother was taken away by the guards. Maybe he's mentally denying the fact that his brother was ever taken away.
