“Brit, I am always amazed that you can keep all of that straight.” Carrie said, looking up briefly from the textbook in front of her, hoping to catch a glimpse of the other person’s face when they heard Brit’s correction. “It always seems so complicated.”

Brit turned to Carrie with a grin. “It’s really not all that hard to remember once you know it,” She chuckled. “It’s just like anything. I’m sure there’s a lot to politics to remember, but people who do politics know it all. I’m sure --- Sports! There’s a lot to sports,” She shrugged. “I just find it all so interesting. I love it.”

“Agree to disagree, I suppose. Sorry but i’d rather not think negatively only to make my day seem like the world is much rather out to get me then help me.” 

“Then don’t say the blonde girl didn’t warn you when everything seems incredibly shit because you didn’t prepare for it.”

Crystal nodded shaking her head. “You and be both, Brit.” Laughing she smiled towards her. “You’re good. I was just going to go to Sonic and get the half price drinks and some tots. Unless you’d rather go somewhere else? It’s five o’clock somewhere if we wanted to bust out drinks now.” 

“Tots!” Britney threw her head back. “Oh my god, I could totally go for food now,” She adjusted her bag on her shoulder. Brit took a couple steps forward before holding her hand out. “Let’s go stuff ourselves.”

“I did not say you were,” said Tarzan with an innocent shrug. “I was talking about something and you heard something else. It happens.”

Britney nodded slowly. “Well I’m going to be going then.”

Brock frowned. She was losing him fast on this one. “Okay, alright, so…” He tried to wrap his head around things enough to form a decent sentence but his understanding of this had been limited from the jump. “So I’m a Sagittarius, okay? I don’t know which one that is except for that the internet told me, okay? So that’s probably tropical? I’m a tropical Sagittarius?” He laughed, shoulders shaking. “So you’re saying there’s a whole different one where I’m not a Sagittarius and nobody even bothered telling me?”

“Well,” Brit started, tilting her head to the side. “Tropical is right, yes. But -- your sidereal sign. Well, it was depend on where in Sagittarius you are. If you’re an early Sagittarius.... I think it’s before December 15th, then your sidereal sign is actual Scorpio.” She raised her eyebrows. “But if you were born 16th or after, your sidereal sign was also still be Sagittarius and you’re a Sag through and through.”

“True, I guess I just like to be the one to be given those hopes.” He said with a shrug. “After all it is a way to think positive and as ma mere would say to me as a child: if you think great things then great things will come. It’s silly but better then now having to go around believing the worst is coming.”

“Life ain’t about dreaming and affording you such dreams. She much prefers smacking you in the face with a big ol’ reality stick. Sorry.” Britney forced a grin and shrugged. 

Truly Bethany didn’t know the difference when it came to astrological seasons and what not. It was so confusing. All she knew were the signs and had an idea of the months when they were ‘active’ or whatever a person would call them. And now she was embarrassed. “Oh, Aquarius season, right..” she repeated, glancing down. “I guess I hadn’t realized it had changed with the new month. Uhm, yeah, I’m not really up to date on the whole star sign business, though I think it’s fascinating how things shift and how knowing more can change a person’s outlook..”

“I don’t know if I’d say it changes someone’s outlook by knowing,” Brit shrugged her shoulders. “Your behaviors because of your star sign are your behaviors because of your star sign. Knowing makes no difference. But, it does make you understand a bit more, and grasp things better. And maybe there’s an aspect of you that you didn’t realize you should slash could work on.”

Crystal heard Brittany and nodded to everything she was saying. If there was one way to upset her, it would be to start speaking about the one thin Brit knew more than most. Smirking a little she nodded towards her. “Maybe we should just buy them a book, a beginners guild to understand what they’re saying. Oh , yes please.  Though, it’s always fun to watch you light a fire under someone’s ass.” 

“I just,” Brit sighed as she stood up. “I don’t get some people,” The blonde rolled her eyes before looking back to her friend. “Where exactly were we going again? I’ve completely forgotten everything, I was so wound up.”

“Do I look like I have a the self control to not tell people something?” Britney snorted. “There are some things I would probably only tell my sisters and swear them to secrecy,” The blonde shrugged. “But I’m practically an open book.”

One second they were talking, and the next Crystal was looking beside her and Britney was off talking to someone else. Laughing a bit she shook her head and watched her. Looking back at the others she shook her head. “I wouldn’t even dare try to argue with her.” She stated back to the others before looking at Britney. “Come on, we’re going to miss happy hour with the good slushies.” 

Britney huffed as Crystal called. She forced a smile at the stranger before turning back to her friend. “It just pisses me off. People act like they’re so obsessed with zodiac and, oh my god it’s my season and share memes about virgo culture on Twitter. But they don’t actually learn the details and intricacies,” She knelt down to gather her bag after nodding. “Right. Yeah,” Britney laughed, looking back to her friend. “Let’s go before someone tells me they’re a Scorpio.”

“Who even knows that much shit? Whatever. I’m a Virgo. The only season that matters.”

“Well I’m an astrology student so an interest in zodiacs is practically a given. And I could have guessed that.”

“The sid… the side what now?” Brock frowned. He’d just googled this and the answers seemed pretty clear. “I thought there was just the zodiac. And then the Chinese zodiac, but that’s years and shit. What’s tropical and the other one?” All Brock knew and cared to know was that his birthday had passed and he’d had a good time; he didn’t know much about horoscopes or anything.

“Tropical is the main one, the one that everyone thinks of when you think of you star sign,” Brit was quick to clarify. “So that’s nothing different. You probably already knew that,” She shuffled where she was sat to face him a little more. “So the tropical system is the more simplified one. It defines zodiacs based on the Earth’s location in regards to the Sun. Whereas sidereal zodiacs are based on the Earth’s location in regards to the sun, as well as the fixed stars.” The information rolled off her tongue like it was second nature.

The whole thing just went entirely over his head. He was trying to learn it all but he still didn’t quite get it. “It’s confusing. I’m trying to figure it all out, star signs and seasons and all that.” He replied. “I usually just end up confusing myself more, to be honest.”

“It is very confusing to begin with,” Brit said gently. “You just need to start simple - Make sure you understand everything about star signs, before you move onto sun and rising.”

“What?” Penelope turned towards the voice, her head tilted to the side. “Yeah, it’s all a bunch of mumbo-jumbo anyway. So what does it matter?” She shrugged, leaning back in her chair. “Just something to keep people occupied. Give them some false sense of security. But you should tell this paper they got it wrong then.”

“The moon literally affects nature. We are part of nature. Of course alignments are going to also have some sort of effect on us. It’d be selfish and stupid to assume that they didn’t,” Brit scrunched up her face as she spoke. “Some places don’t hire actual astrologists to do those. Hence why mistakes happen.”
