The snuggles are real.
So it took about a day for both buns to get over the changes in surrounds in and notice each other. Which happened completely in sync. The looked up, eyes met, froze, and then went to go sniff noses. Not only to the seem to remember each other, but they seem happy to be reunited even! Thu was even binkying around the room--although she might also have been doing that to rub in aster's face that she has run of my bedroom and he doesn't yet.
The little ball of white fuzz in the photo there is Aster, a three year old Lionhead rabbit I recently adopted from a friend. Hey Everyone! So big news! Aster and Thu are living together again! Demi has moved, and unfortunately, where she is at the moment, there’s no room for Aster. So he’s living with me and Thu-roo! But he’s a grown man-bun now, with the typical problems of an unfixed bunny. So we could use some help in paying for getting him fixed. From the campaign:
The little ball of white fuzz in the photo there is Aster, a three year old Lionhead rabbit I recently adopted from a friend. He’s affectionate, spunky, loves to climb and also, unfortunately, hump my female rabbit’s face, because he hasn’t been neutered yet. Neither I nor his previous owner have a lot of funds, but as any pet owner knows, fixing your pets is important! I’d also like to be able to get him a solid regular check up as well, to make sure his teeth and all the rest of him are healthy enough to keep up with his rambunctious nature! A donation, no matter how small, will make sure he’s healthy, and that he and his bestie Thu can get along without problems (like face humping, which is a form of affection she does not really appreciate). The average cost of neutering a rabbit is about $250, and a vet visit about $50, but I will keep everyone updated when I know a more solid cost from the vet, and adjust the goal accordingly. If his cute face earns him more than he needs, anything else will be put towards a check up for Thu. Both I and his mom greatly appreciate any helping hands, paws, or whatever aiding appendages you might have to offer to keep Aster at his happiest!
Whether it’s one dollar or a hundred or even just a reblog for a signal boost, I’m incredibly grateful for the help!

It's midnight. This obviously means it is time to run as fast as you possibly can.
(Bunnies and Sunshine)
Easter is coming up! And it’s a terrible time for pet store bunnies!
Rabbits are marketed as “easy”, short-lived, starter pets, especially during the Easter holidays, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth! A healthy, well cared for bunny can live just as long as the average cat or dog- 10-12 years!
What’s more, they have more complex needs than a cat or a dog. Rabbits are prey animals and do not behave or show affection in the same way as predators like cats and dogs; they don’t deal well with being outside-only animals; they can get sad if they’re on their own and don’t receive enough attention; and if they’re bought as a male and female couple, they can start reproducing from as early as 5-6 months of age, and they can carry multiple litters at the same time!
They have a specialised diet (NOT carrots!), need a specialised living area (unless you want all your things to get chewed up!), and they need specialised vets! Caring for them costs as much as caring for a dog!
They’re a big responsibility!
