american: where?

the music falls silent as do the people. a person chokes on their drink. everyone but the guest stare blankly into their food. 

guest: i’m sorry did I say something inappropriate?

host 1: oh no, it’s nothing, it’s nothing

host 2: don’t worry about it, yeah, don’t worry

guest: ah okay, thank god, yeah no i was just wondering where you picked the mushrooms

the party falls silent again

host 2: han var jävligt nyfiken, var han [somebody’s being fucking nosy]

guest: i don’t understand, what’s going on? have i said something inappropriate? i’m just wondering if you have a “spot” like where you pick your mushrooms, like your “mushroom spot”?

host 1, throws utensils down, raises voice and stands up: okay now you’re crossing the line, now you have- nu får du- i have to ask you to leave, please

Artemis: When my parents first started taking us here, I played the dutiful son and accompanied them on their outings to Pont du Gard, the vineyards of Vaucluse, etc. However, I tire easily of tourist activities, and when the twins became more active I was able to extricate myself. Now I go out mainly in the mornings and at the golden hour to paint, and otherwise spend my time working or reading in local cafes.

Artemis: @expired-yellow I paint from time to time, mostly in oils and in the classical practice. Myles, however, has a great imagination and affinity for anime. He likes to concoct all sorts of stories featuring himself and Myles, which he then illustrates.

Foaly: I’ve been known to draw from time to time. Nowadays it’s mostly blueprints, but I also wrote and published satyrical comics in my uni days.

Minerva: I enjoyed watercolor landscapes as a girl. When I take up the paints now, I prefer still lifes I can do indoors.
