hi like two nights ago i came up with horror concepts for vex but didn’t actually sketch them until i got to work and then painted more detailed versions of those sketches at 1 in the morning

i think for being the god of nightmares he should have a scary side that can be snuck in a kids game as much as i like his silly goofy side like cmon sumo. you already sold me with a silly jester man you can sell to more people if you make him just a little bit scarier i think.

also for that sleep virus thing (that’s not the name that’s just a placeholder bc idk what to call it lmfao ive been suggested “slumbering plague” which is really cool imo but im open to more suggestions as well) i also sketched out the various stages with a small explanation below

basically it infects a person while they’re asleep and the outcome is that the person turns into that abomination as the virus continues spreading, eventually infesting their bedroom itself with its roots and fungi

and the victim’s just kind of stuck in this weird sleep paralysis limbo where they dont wake up or move despite what they’re turning into but they still feel all the pain induced by that virus. at most they could twitch and you can just barely hear them struggle to breathe as they just make these shaky raspy breaths when you get closer
