GOD HAS A PLAN

Our founder Chris met Cameron Dallas at an event where the MyIntent team was making bracelets for guests. Chris asked Cameron what his word was, it took him a moment to think about it and then he chose “God Has A Plan.” When Chris was delivering the bracelet to him at the end of the night, they struck up a conversation, Cameron talks about the experience on his YouTube Channel:

A couple weeks ago I was going to my friend’s event, I was in a huge rush because he was about to perform and as I was walking in their was a bracelet company and they wanted to give me a bracelet. They gave me examples [on which word I can choose].  I got the urge to get “God Has A Plan” and when I did that [Chris] kind of gave me a weird look, like I was crazy.  When my friend’s performance was over he brought it up to me and put the bracelet on for me. Then we got to talking about how he’s never had a young person choose that meaningful of a word… So fast forward to the beginning of today- I woke up feeling really different, I felt that emotional side of me really coming out when I woke up. I’m not really one to weigh in on those types of emotions so I tried to forget about it, but I just couldn’t shake it. I got into the shower to clear me head and I couldn’t take it anymore, I just started crying. I felt stressed out, I felt depressed, I felt sad, I felt like I let myself down, and all the people that look up to me.  Most of all I felt like I let God down. I kept asking myself why? How did this happen? How did I let all this happen? I felt the lowest I ever had in my life. I had my eyes covered with the palms of my hands  and I was just bawling my eyes out, I could barely even catch my breath.  I took my hands away and I saw something shining right back at me and it was the brass ring on my bracelet, I read it and it said “God Has A Plan.” After that I had a sense of calm, a sense of relief, a sense of joy. I knew everything would be okay and everything would be alright if I had faith and trust in God.

If you scroll through Cameron’s YouTube channel you’ll see a lot of fun and lighthearted videos, but in this one he really opened up and had a meaningful conversation with himself and with his followers.  Our mission to be a catalyst for meaningful conversations and positive energy so we’re grateful to Cameron for opening up and inspiring so many people to think about their intentions in life.

DO

When our founder Chris met model and Instagram star Alissa Violet at an event, he offered to make her a bracelet.  She chose the word “Do” saying:

I have the word dream on my wall but I wanted Do on my bracelet to remember to make those dreams come true.

We love the story behind Alissa’s Intent because it is important to remember that we have to take action for anything to actually happen.

VASTSKY

Our Founder Chris met Amanda Seyfried at The DEN Meditation grand opening in Los Angeles, he made a bracelet for her- she chose the words “Vast Sky” from her favorite poem of the same name:

This world - absolutely pure As is. Behind the fear, Vulnerability. Behind that, Sadness, then compassion And behind that the vast sky.

We thought it was amazing that she chose her word based off a poem that so closely mirrors the mission behind MyIntent- its about going deeper, uncovering layers and enjoying every step of the journey. Amanda mentioned that she likes working with her hands so Chris taught her how to stamp a bracelet, she created the word “Believe” for a friend.

While reflecting on the experience he shared with Amanda, Chris said, “I really resonated with [this poem] because this has been a journey for me as well. So this whole process is about diving deeper and deeper and finding that sense of freedom, that sense of bliss, whatever that vast sky means to you.”

CONSCIOUSNESS

As a young actor and model in Hollywood, it can be hard to stay grounded and true to yourself, but one young man has managed to accomplish just that. Jaden Smith has become well-known for his thought-provoking tweets and messages to the world.

When our Founder Chris Pan saw Jaden at the Roc Nation pre-Grammy Brunch, he explained what MyIntent is all about and asked him what his word is. Jaden chose “Consciousness,” saying:

I am into quantum physics and mathematics - that's why I felt the need for CONSCIOUSNESS. When you apply consciousness to something, that's how you heal something, that's how you fix something, you cure that issue - just by conscious intent. Consciousness is all that we have and it's the only thing that doesn't die.

We love that Jaden chose such a meaningful world that will make people think, and encourage us all to be more aware of our thoughts and actions. Jaden’s sister Willow also chose Consciousness as her word.

MyIntent is a project that encourages everyone to share their messages with the world.

WITHIN

When she’s not starring in hit shows like Teen Wolf and Pretty Little Liars, Torrey DeVitto spends her time helping others. Torrey has a huge heart, and has taken time to partner with various charities, including Road to Hope and The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. When Torrey learned about MyIntent, she loved the idea, and chose to wear the word “Truth” in 2014 and for 2015 she chose “Within”.

“Love wearing my MyIntent necklace. Last year my word was TRUTH and this year my word is WITHIN. Because everything I need is already within me. A simple concept that took a lot of life lessons and 30 years to finally grasp. Everything I was looking for was right in front of me, within me.”

When Torrey volunteered her time with Road to Hope, a charity benefiting hungry and homeless kids in Africa, MyIntent wanted to help. On her Instagram, Torrey wrote:

NORTH

Being a mother is one of the most important jobs in the world. Many moms have to juggle so many priorities, it can often be a struggle to find balance. As one of the busiest and most recognizable TV personalities in the world, Kim Kardashian had to quickly learn how to balance her busy career with being a new mom. She spoke about the challenge with a parenting blog saying:

“I took a hiatus after I had the baby, and found it challenging to start working again because I didn’t want to spend any time away, but you adjust and prioritize, and just figure it out.”

When MyIntent founder Chris Pan met Kim’s manager, he explained the meaning behind our bracelets and offered to send a few to Kim. She chose a bracelet with the word “North.”

“I love being a mom! It’s the most rewarding feeling! I really love every phase. Just the way my daughter laughs with me, all of the small things in life you appreciate.”

We were honored to be featured on Kim’s website as one of her “Can’t Get Enough: Mommy Jewelry” pieces.

WHY

As one of the most successful television hosts of our time, Larry King has learned a lot about the art of communication, he shares his thoughts, saying:

I remind myself every morning: Nothing I say this day will teach me anything. So if I'm going to learn, I must do it by listening.

MyIntent’s Founder, Chris Pan, invited to meet Larry King and have breakfast with him. After discussing the meaning behind the MyIntent project, Chris asked Larry what his word is; he originally chose “Curiosity” then settled on “Why” because he said he spent his entire life asking why. Chris made him the bracelet and asked him why he changed his mind about his word, Larry said:

Why? Why? Why? If you are a curious person it always comes down to why. And it's the best question for an interviewer because it can't be answered in one word.

Chris’ biggest takeaway from talking with Larry is that he asks “why” a lot more often now and realized that it is the most important question. Once you figure out “why” the rest will fall into place.

PEACE

While attending the Dalai Lama's 80th birthday and Global Compassion Summit at the Honda Center, MyIntent’s Founder Chris spotted Cody Simspon in the crowd and offered to give him a bracelet.  The organizers of the event asked Chris to make bracelets with the words “Peace,” “Kind,” and “Compassion,” three intentions that are in line with the Dalai Lama’s message for the world. When Chris asked which word he wanted, Cody chose “Peace.” Cody loved the meaning behind the bracelet and put it on right there at the event.  After the event Cody took to his Instagram to say: 

A spiritual journey has no destination. Thank you @DalaiLama for leading a generation and being an instrumental carver of the road for world peace, #withcompassion.

MyIntent symbolizes all of our spiritual journeys and reminds us to live our lives with peace, kindness and compassion.

SURRENDER

When Beyoncé walked past MyIntent’s booth at the Roc Nation pre-Grammy brunch, our founder Chris Pan asked her what her word is.  She took a minute to think and said “Hope,” after a moment she changed her word to “Surrender.” Chris made both, a necklace for hope and a bracelet for surrender. 

Chris made both because your bracelet is worn on your wrist, it reminds you of what you want or need more of in your life.  The word on your necklace is worn close to your chest, it symbolizes your heart.

Beyoncé speaks openly on how she surrenders in an MTV Documentary:

"I’m learning how to drown out the constant noise that is such an inseparable part of my life. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone, I only have to follow my heart and concentrate on what I want to say to the world."

MyIntent is a catalyst for positive energy and meaningful conversations.

PURPOSE

Just before the release of his #1 album, Justin Bieber struggled through a turbulent time in his life. Justin spoke candidly with fans at an album release event saying,

I just felt like I lost my place for a while. I lost my purpose, and I wanted to just be a light and let people know that whether you don't feel like you have a purpose, whether you're just trying to figure it out, there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

When our founder Chris Pan heard about the release of Justin’s album, Purpose, he sent five bracelets to his management team with the word “Purpose.” Justin put one on and gave the remaining four to members of his musical team including Skrillex and guitarist, Dan Kanter.  MyIntent bracelets reminds us all of our purpose and to be a light for those that are searching for theirs. 

MyIntent is a catalyst for meaningful conversations and positive energy, a reminder to live every day of our lives with intention.

BEAUTIFY

When Kanye walked by MyIntent founder Chris Pan at the Roc Nation Pre-Grammy brunch, Chris explained the meaning behind our bracelets and asked him what his word is, he said he needed time to think about it. Later when Chris was delivering the word “Faith” to Rihanna he felt a tap on his shoulder, he turned to see Kanye standing there.  Kanye said that his word is “Beautify”- to make the world more beautiful.  Chris made the bracelet and returned to his table to give it to him.

Later when Chris was walking away he felt another tap on his shoulder, this time it was a bodyguard pointing towards Kanye.  Kanye nodded to Chris, in what he believed to be a moment of mutual understanding. Every now and then we all need a reminder to take a step back and think about our intentions in life, just as Kanye did.

Kanye later wore the bracelet when he was featured on the cover of time magazine. In an interview, Chris said:

I think it came from his heart which is probably why he’s still wearing it 3 months later and chose to feature it on the cover. I don’t think this is an accident. A man who could wear anything, literally anything, but he is choosing to wear his intent. It retails for $12.

EDUCATE

Jay Z is one of the most famous hip hop artists in the world, and yet he uses his successes to bring change and positivity into the world.  He is the creator of the Shawn Carter Foundation, a charity that benefits the underprivileged youths of America.  Jay Z is a firm believer in the power of education:

I’m hungry for knowledge. The whole thing is to learn every day, to get brighter and brighter. That’s what this world is about. With Education comes refinement.

When by chance, MyIntent founder Chris Pan spotted Jay Z at Soho house, he saw it as a great opportunity to share MyIntent’s message with a positive influencer in the world.  Chris engraved the word “Educate,” along with the letters SCF (Shawn Carter Foundation) into a bracelet and went to Jay Z’s table to give it to him, he loved the concept.

Jay Brown, the CEO of Roc Nation, even asked Chris to create a bracelet right at their table. He chose the word “Survivor.” Jay Z then invited Chris to make bracelets at his Roc Nation Pre-Grammy Brunch.
