You left daffodils

In my living room

Now I'm wordless and speechless

And pinned like a butterfly

Straight through your heart

And I swear, I don't understand a thing

All I can think of is the pain

Of piercing your own heart

For me. For you.

And the walls become blood-red

And I'm swept away by your love

My love

And I'm not even asking how this could be true.

You spilled your deepest blue

Now your ink flows

Through the depths of my own soul

And in the pupil of your eye

There's a whole world

...on our lips drops of blood

A sign in the endless white skies

Hand lead by some unseen force or magic

Pen flying on the paper, leaving ripples in time

Unseen or forgotten,

The undertow pulled our voices

At the sea's bottom,

Down there, silence is a living thing

Breathing and terrifying

It mirrors back

Everything

Everything, we never said out loud

But kept it for our lonely nights

Dreamy and inescapable,

And with jealousy, overprotecting our own worlds

While wanting more from life.

It is sad fierce thing, to be a poet

We get consumed by the fires

We start ourselves,

and all that stays is an echo and the smoke

Echo and the smoke

For the bravest

A tear in which the entire world can fit

But only one heart can hold.
