Timeless

Pressing his lips together, Jake nods his head with a sigh and after pressing a kiss to the top of your head, he leaves the kitchen, not wanting to suffocate you any further. Your words only made him feel worse though, so the moment that he steps in the bathroom, he slouches on the shower wall heavily, letting the hot water hit his back and try to pry his mind away from your exhausted eyes.

And he gives you all the time you needed, trying his best not to bother you even when evening started approaching.

You walk into the bedroom and Jake watches you from the bed in silence up until your fingers clench onto your pillow and you lift it up from the bed into your arms. Before you even get the chance to grab one of the neatly folded blankets laying on the corner of your shared bed, Jake's hand wraps around your wrist gently and stops your movements.

"What are you doing?" He asks, eyes slightly widened as he looks down at you.

You clear your throat and pull your hand out of his weak hold on you. "I'm sleeping on the couch."

A flash of hurt runs through your boyfriend's face as he lifts himself up from the mattress, looking almost like a kicked puppy.

"C'mon, don't do this to me, love," the whine mingles at the back of his throat as he takes the pillow out of your arms and places it back on the bed, right next to his. "Look, I'm sorry. I know I've been an asshole but stop avoiding me, please. Let's talk about it?"

With a resigned sigh nod of your head, you sit on the edge of the bed, turning around just to face him. A frown appears on his forehead as he notices your eye bags, feeling responsible for making you so restless.

Jake reaches his hand out to take yours again, sighing in relief when you let him intertwine your fingers together. "I know I didn't have the right to snap at you like that and I'm really sorry for that. I know you were only worried for me and I acted like an idiot but I was just tired and I took it out on you. You know I never want to hurt you, baby."

You let him pull you by your hand closer to him, only to wrap his arm over your waist and drag you right on top of him. You lay on his chest in silence for a moment, enjoying the so missed feeling of his fingers running through your hair, gently untangling any knot that he's come across of.

"Just let me take care of you sometimes, alright? That's all I ask for," you mutter quietly, hand slipping underneath his shirt and caressing his skin gently as you rest your cheek on his chest. "You keep overworking yourself all the time, so it's normal that I worry about you. I only want the best for you, you know that, right?"

Jake hums, enclosing his arms around you tightly. "I know," he whispers back, leaning down for his lips to lay on your forehead. "And I'm really thankful for that. For you. I'm the luckiest to have you with me. Don't ever let my bullshit words tell you otherwise, okay?"

You nod your head, reaching your free hand up to caress his jawline tenderly. Jake catches your hand in his, pulling it a little higher to press a kiss to your knuckles.

"Let's go to sleep now. I hate to think that I kept you awake for the whole night yesterday. I'll take care of you tomorrow, hm? Will you let me do that for you, baby?"

“what?” the couch sinks in a little as he sits opposite to you, pouting even more. it’s been three hours since he woke up, three hours of him following you around, hoping for a kiss. “i can’t believe you’re keeping me from getting my beloved kisses,”

“giving me that face is not going to work,” your words are stern with hints of certainty and rejection, a tone sunghoon doesn’t fancy. and much to your disappointment, your words only make the pout on his face morph into a frown.

“c’mon, just one kiss, please,”

“last time you said that, we ended up making out for thirty minutes and you got late for your schedule,” and ironically enough, it’s the same scenario right how— him asking for a kiss before he leaves for whatever schedules he has for the day. truthfully, kissing him isn’t a problem, the process is. 

it’s the way it feels. 

“i’m a changed man now,” he sounds a little too prideful when he says that, trying his best to convince you, clearly vexed by this whole situation. “stop playing hard to get, sweetheart. i know you want to kiss me too,”

“fine, just five minutes,” is what you both settle on when he nods at your words, leaning in towards you, tracing his thumb over your lips ever so gently. “and keep your tongue to yourself,”

“mhm, whatever you say,” you know he’s going to do it anyway, and you can’t be bothered to comment back. you’re too busy savouring the moment as his lips graze against your jaw, trailing down to your neck before you hear him chuckle softly. “see, i knew you couldn’t wait to kiss me. i look very kissable, i know that,”

and you just roll your eyes, pretending to disagree although the smile on your face says otherwise. he’s irresistible, you know that, he knows that. he feels it in the way your head tilts back, an invitation for him to continue. “bragging about yourself makes you very unkissable, hoon,”

the tip of his nose brushes against your neck, fluttering kisses pressed all the way down to your collarbone. “then, shut me up,” 

and you do, pressing your lips against him; a kiss that deepens when his hands settle on your nape, pulling you closer. you’re reminded again— it’s the process of kissing sunghoon that is the problem. the feeling, his lips on yours, how intoxicatingly sweet it feels and how you end up drowning in the taste, despite all the refusal from just a few minutes ago. 

you feel him smiling against your lips, a sign that the history is repeating itself, because his hand is on your waist, tongue brushing against your lips, his phone is buzzing on the table just a few steps away— probably a call from sunoo. another scheduled attended late, but sunghoon doesn’t care because you’re in his arms, and it’s not long until you finally give in.

“hey jay... i have to go... class starts soon.” 

you could hear him grunting lowly into the crook of your neck, evidently annoyed at you for attempting to wake him up so early in the morning.

park jongseong was not a morning person and he has told you that on several occasions. but class starts in half an hour for you and after skipping two times in a row, because of him, you figured your professor wouldn’t be too happy if you missed a third.

“you literally say this line every day, but do you ever go?” he groggily scoffs to himself and you feel his arms tighten around your waist, pulling you back into his chest.

you can’t help but smile at the football captain’s cute sleepy state, his head of brown hair so messy and fluffy, a rare sight only you ever got to see. jay was definitely breath taking, his sun kissed skin and seemingly perfect features had become something you absolutely adored.

your fingers naturally reach up to trace the outline of his neck, just loving the way his skin felt underneath your fingertips. the boy surprises you when he suddenly grabs your hand, holding it completely still. you’re unsure of his intentions, worry washing over you at the thought of potentially hurting him in some way.

but what he does next... immediately has you completely putty in his palm.

bringing your hand up towards his face, jay presses his soft lips onto each one of your fingers, kissing them as if they were something so delicate to him, so fragile. it feels weird to see him acting so soft towards you, your heart increasing at an alarming rate again even though you've experienced this side of him over and over.

“stay with me. it’s not optional,” his pretty brown eyes finally opens up to look at you and your breath hitches at the sight, a sight you’ve become so accustomed to these past few months, one you could never, ever say no to.

and the boy knew this weakness of yours too well.

“what do i get out of this besides a fail, mr park?”

“you get me all to yourself,” he chuckles and leans in, placing a sweet kiss onto the side of your lips, “that’s all you need baby.”

the boy was right and that fact would be something you needed to deal with sooner or later but right now, all you could do was sink further into park jongseong’s arms.

"Hey sweetheart," Jake ushered you into his office, closing the door behind you and blocking out the mumbles of patients nearby. "You look pretty today."

You rolled your eyes, "you saw me this morning Jake, and you said the exact same thing."

He smiled cheekily, wrapping his arms around you from behind, his hands resting on your little bump. You were still small enough that he could lock his hands around you, fingers intertwining over your bump protectively. This is how he liked to stand when you were out in public, it was comforting for you and you know Jake loved it too.

"Am I not allowed to call my pretty girlfriend pretty?" He pressed a kiss to the side of your head before pulling away, one hand tugging you towards the chair in his office.

This wasn't his normal consulting room, but he was just doing a quick check up on you so he didn't need to be in there. Plus his office was cozier, he had a little framed photo of the two of you on his desk and a couple little trinkets that he'd collected over the years, including a cheesy written note you'd given him just weeks into your relationship.

"So, what's wrong angel?" He sat in front of you, hands on your knees as he waited for your answer.

"Just stomach pains," you sighed softly. "It felt like cramps but more intense, I had to sit down for a while because it was so bad."

Jake frowned, "and how long have they been going on for?"

His hand subconsciously went to rub over your stomach, how he always did at night when you were cuddling. You smiled at him, he really was the sweetest when he was talking about the baby. He pressed a little on certain areas, feeling around for anything abnormal.

"Only today Jakey, they lasted maybe two hours before they stopped," you placed your hand over Jake's. "It's gone completely now, so I'm not sure where it came from."

Jake nodded, bottom lip pouted at in concentration as your talked, "it's nothing to worry about sweetheart, cramps happen a lot in pregnancy and everything feels ok. Just keep an eye on it, if it happens again or gets worse then we can do a little scan to double check. But it's probably just our little one moving around a bit and stressing you out, a warm compress will help a lot too."

He leant over and kissed your forehead gently, brushing some hair away from your face. Jake played the role of the concerned dad very well, it was sweet. He was already in love with you before, but he just proved more each day how much he truly did feel about you.

"Thanks baby," you took his hand in yours and squeezed it gently. "What time do you get off work? Want to stay round mine tonight?"

"Mhm," he lifted up your hand and kissed the back of it, holding his lips there for a few seconds. "Can't wait for you to move in next week, it's going to feel so much better waking up together in our apartment. I can help you do some packing tonight as well if you want?"

"Sounds good, it's mostly just my clothes that need to be done now." You stood up, dusting off your clothes, still wearing your work apron. Jake watched you as you did so, his eyes soft and adoring, before tugging you into a warm hug.

"I'll miss you until then," he mumbled into your hair, rubbing up and down your back gently. "You'll let me know if you feel bad again, right?"

"Of course Jakey," you leant up to kiss him softly, lips pressed to his for a few seconds before you pulled away. "You're the first one I'll call."

He smiled, kissing you again a few times before finally letting you go, giggles leaving your lips as you slipped away from him.

"Can we order pizza tonight? I'm really craving it," you said, hand still holding his as you walked towards the door.

"We had pizza two nights ago sweetheart, and the night before that," Jake was watching you fondly, you knew he'd agree anyway.

"That baby wants it, I can't help it," you tugged him back towards you, kissing his cheek once he was close enough. "We can eat pizza and cuddle and kiss a bit if you want."
