interesting! wild flareon are rare to see outside of extremely hot deserts or volcanic areas. that does make me wonder if this is maybe a breeder tag rather than a research tag. some large-scale breeders will tag ears, and it makes more sense for your girl to have been evolved by a trainer and then released.

any time you catch a tagged pokemon, i highly recommend looking up the tag code using the pokemon box registry database for tags! if someone is actually interested in keeping up with a pokemon, they'll have their tag system uploaded there. researchers use it all the time to see if one of their specimens has been reported as caught. to be honest, i'd be surprised if your flareon's tag is in there, though. breeder tags are rarely uploaded unless the pokemon is extremely valuable, and given that large-scale eevee breeders often aren't...let's say particularly worried about where the pokemon end up, they likely didn't register hers. always worth a check just in case though!

Pokemon Crossbreeds: Chaton

Chaton is the name for members of the Cinccino line whose father is a member of the Meowstic line. The breed gets its name from the Kalosian word meaning "kitten." They were originally bred in Unova from Kalosians who brought their meowstics over and they have since become a popular breed in that region (despite breeder advice not to because Meowstic mate for life and Minccino/Cinccino don't. If you wanna breed them, just get it from ethical breeders. And people forget that, if you breed to pokemon of the same breed, the offspring is going to be the same breed as the parents. You don't need to even have a meowstic in this situation).

Minccino

Chaton Minccino gain the traits of Espurr. While they don't have any psychic powers, they keep their ears folded as a leftover trait. Chaton minccino are less social than their standard breed counterparts and are also more wary of other's, preferring to live by themselves in the quiet. People love them because of their extra fluff but their extra fluff means that they are more particular about cleaning themselves and they don't like to be touched much.

Cinccino

Chaton Cinccino gain the traits of Meowstic. The breed is highly loved by contest judges by their calm and sometimes rude behaviour, especially the females. The females are highly valued for their gray fur, which only appears in the standard cinccino breed as a rare genetic mutation. Sometimes, they are even purposely bred for their fur, which is shaved and more into coats or scarves. This is discouraged because of Cinccino's bride in their fur and some breeders have discouraged trying to breed them along due to how few people actually listen.

Safe to breed?: No. Meowstic mate for life and Minccino/Cinccino don't, so you'll just end up having a hurt meowstic. If you want to breed them, just get two members of the breed. Meowstic doesn't have to be involved.
