Tumblr Anons and their entitlement.
I genuinely worry for people who sent hateful or audacious anon asks because if this is how you treat people behind not one, but two layers of anonymity I could only begin to imagine how you are in real life.
I am genuinely quite grateful for the community I have built on Tumblr and the mutuals I have made along the way. I am incredibly grateful that I am able to have my inbox open and my anon feature active.
Truly, I think I can count on one hand the last time I've gotten a rude or out of pocket anon in the last year and a half of this blog existing.
That being said, I am writing this to vent about the blogs that are not quite as fortunate as I have been. Most being mutuals because naturally those are the asks that come up in my following tab the most frequently. While this doesn't directly affect me, it saddens me to see.
Because I know the feeling well, and I think that's possibly a big reason why some of these anons act the way they do. They have no idea what it feels like to be on the receiving end of their hatred.
Just because a blog is "popular" by your standards does not make them a celebrity or an influencer. Even if it did, it wouldn't make them any less of a human being with emotions.
This is the internet, you are going to stumble across things you like and dislike. You are going to see things you want to see and things you may have wished you never did.
It, unfortunately, is not up to the blog owner to police what you consume. You have the ability to scroll. You have the ability to filter and block tags. You have the ability to stop reading after a certain point.
Nobody is forcing you to consume media. Nobody is forcing you to consume content. And, by no means, is it your job to then jump in their inbox and start dogging on them for writing what they wrote.
Now, by no means, is this in reference to the ask I got the other day. While the approach could have been much different and kinder, I did understand where they were coming from. It's not hard for authors to throw some content warnings or tags into their posts.
But, we are human, if it is something we are comfortable with writing, it may be something we forget! Mistakes happen, it doesn't hurt to comment or send an ask informing the blog if you notice something went without a content warning that could benefit from one.
What does hurt is how you approach it, especially if it's condescending.
I still sit here quite baffled at how large of a community I have accumulated here on Mwphisto. Especially since my ask response time is so so so shit, I post content so sporadically, and when I do it's mediocre at best if we're being totally honest.
To see mutuals who post consistently, daily, answer buckets of asks multiple times a day, get shit on for writing other characters rather than just their main?? Are you mentally well?? The entitlement to click "anonymous" and then spew a mouthful of bullshit is insane.
There is so much going on in the LaDs community right now. The game itself is dying in real time thanks to infold's terrible crisis management and poor decisions. I don't really give a fuck if you like Valko or not but don't be running to any blog you can think of telling them to stop writing for "the dog" or thanking them for staying "true to the game" and not writing for him. It's not that deep, it's never been that deep.
Go touch some grass, find a hobby, get some dick or pussy Idfk.
But do anything other than remain chronically online bullying people through a screen for writing word porn about pixelated men coded into a game and voiced by anonymous men... hello?????
Your main is not real baby, he is not going to pick you because you didn't read or like a post containing Valko like... he does not exist nor does he have emotions, you know that right?
It's important to me that you know that...
Anyways, I'm tired, I hope this doesn't open a can of worms for me lol but I really needed to get this off my chest because the community has been a hot fucking mess since Infold revoked wolf privileges.
