most of the backlash was in august 1996, particularly the first week of august; it seems that, while the whole storyline was controversial, episode #1758, which aired on the night of 2 august 1996—that is, the night before loch lomond—was especially so (probably because its content was more explicit about the sexual relationship between the siblings, but i’ll look into it some more.)
