Happy Lunar New Year of the horse, everyone!

I've been really liking drawing tiny girls on birds:3

Why a pigeon in my design a nd not a dove? Doves are often used as a symbol of peace, but pigeons are often seen as undesirable. The only difference is their color. This symbolism here, I feel, is fitting for how people react towards violence against black people. I think pigeons are beautiful birds, and I’ve tried my best to capture this in this illustration. I also like to draw flowers, so I added Sudan’s national flower, Hibiscus.

Working in the arts can be so disheartening. The feeling of not fitting in, belonging, the bullying, rules apply to me but not others, but I'm happy now that I've found a place where I am welcomed and valued!
