Wanda couldn’t help but keep being hopeful.  She didn’t want to agree with Erik but she still held out, “You aren’t born a monster.  He must have suffered through hardships that warped him.” She tried to imagine what terrible things her father would’ve gone through to make him the way he was.  All she could think of was the small bullying that she went through.  She looked at Erik and gave a small smile, “I have his eyes?” she asked.  She also felt a swell of pride at being as stubborn as her father.

Her statement was far more true than she realized, but Erik couldn’t admit that. Not even to himself really, because doing so felt like an excuse. “No hardship is enough to justify becoming a monster,” he quietly murmured. “He made his own choices and the actions of others cannot be blamed for what he has done.”

"I wish you loved me."

"Everyone can tell you love me, it’s obvious."

"I just wanna give you the love you never had, why won’t you let me?"

"I want to hold you like no one else has, love you like no one else has, and make you mine in ways no one else ever will."

"To protect us, he’d rather stay away," she mused quietly.  "Despite the violence he causes…he sounds to have some noble qualities." She understood what her father was fighting for, and she may not agree with his methods, but his cause was one that she could stand behind.  

Humans are cruel to mutants, or really to anyone that is different.  She still had a determined face and said what she was sure Erik had figured out.  ”I still want to meet him.” She looked at him and a small smile.  ”I know I have my powers because of him, but I want to know what else I got from him.  Do we have the same laugh? Do I have his eyes?”

"Your father is a monster," Erik spat out with all the self-hatred that he had long allowed to fester. "The only thing noble about him is that he has saved a few lives. Compared to the lives he has taken, and the ones that he destroyed, his few noble moments mean nothing."
