Hello there and thank you for stopping by to read this campaign. This is a story of a good hardworking man who wants to be a better Muslim.
Islam and Usury As Muslims, Islam teaches us that interest or usury is haraam or impermissible and is a terrible sin. There are many verses in the Noble Quran and from the Narrations of the Prophet Muhammad that shows the graveness of usury.
The definition of Interest, the literal meaning of interest or Al-Ribaas it is used in the arabic language means to excess or increase. In the Islamic terminology interest means effortless profit or that profit which comes free from compensation or that extra earning obtained that is free of exchange. Riba has been described as a loan with the condition that the borrower will return to the lender more than and better than the quantity borrowed. As you can see, any transactions that involves usury makes it a win-lose; a win for the lender and a lose for the borrower. Islam prohibits this and encourages a win-win situation instead.
However, in the present age where banks rule the world and even governments are giving interest through their policies, it is very difficult for some Muslims who wish to abide by their religion as much as they can. In addition to that, in order to own a house, the most basic need, a loan is taken up with usury involved.
About Myself and My Friend I am an English teacher who goes from house to house to teach English to elementary and middle (primary) school students. And so from time to time, this friend of mine, Brother Zam, will randomly text me, drive to me and help send me to the house I'm headed to.
And he would refuse to let me pay sometimes. Because for him, it is his investment in the education of the students I teach.
Sometimes, when I am out of money, Brother Zam would offer to buy me snacks and a drink, even though I know he doesn't have enough himself.
Brother Zam lives with his wife, his mother-in-law and his 3 cats, BB, Audi and Puteh. Every month, he is paying $1000 for his rented apartment and about $1000 for his household needs from his $2,500 income from cab driving, leaving a surplus of around $500 that he tries to pay off the loan little by little.
But as time passes by, Brother Zam is worried about the usury and his personal need to commit to Islam.
And so I am hoping that with your help, Brother Zam can pay off his loan and be free from the usury.
As A Way of Gratitude I am willing to give those who contribute their money to this campaign free online writing lessons or writing for their children. I have created my own writing system designed to help children in Singapore to write better narratives called The Fledgling Writer's Guide. Upon your contribution, I will contact you, if you wish, for the writing lessons. You can find out more about my startup at www.mustery.com and my startupâs Facebook page.
Brother Zam's Request Brother Zam has expressed his personal wish to repay back the amount to those who have sincerely helped. If you wish to allow Brother Zam to return you the money, then I can help out with the transactions.
And Finally... Thank you, for taking the time to read this campaign and I wish you all the best in life.

Self care Master post - Crucial Psychology Self Defence
31-10-2015 / So Iâve been asked by a few people to post my bullet journal setup so here it is! I still have some work to do with regards to my timetable pages so I havenât included those here.
1 / Contents page 2 / Deadlines page 3 / To be read page 4 / Calendar spread (unfinished) 5 / October â15 monthly view 6 / Typical example of a ~ž day spread
Just finished registering for next semester (âŚmy last semester of college, yikes)
Self made time table
Hello hi hey! This is my first masterpost, I wanted to make it since a friend of mine was curious about bullet journals and I offered to link her to some information. Letâs go!
So what the heck is a bullet journal?
A bullet journal is essentially an âeverything notebookâ. Itâs a place to keep literally anything and everything with out it being cluttered or lost. The definition from the official website is:
âThe Bullet Journal is a customizable and forgiving organization system. It can be your to-do list, sketchbook, notebook, and diary, but most likely, it will be all of the above. It will teach you to do more with less.â
original bullet journal video:
Getting started
The bullet journal is really, really easy to start. Most people love it because itâs only as simple or as complicated as you make it. Itâs really customizable, and theyâre also super easy to decorate!
You really only need two things:
A notebook
It really doesnât have to be a fancy notebook at all. You can use any notebook you happen to have lying around. Or you can buy one specifically, itâs up to you. Iâd recommend:
moleskine squared notebook (can be a bit pricey)
LEUCHTTURM1917 Â (cheaper than a moleskine, tumblr seems to love it)
ecosystem architect (cheap and recycled!!)
  2.  A pen
Thatâs it. Literally.
Page types
index - this is generally the first page, itâs basically a contents page, you keep referring back to it and adding entries for new months, lists etc.
key - your entries are written as bullet points (hence âbullet journalâ) and each type of bullet means something different. the key is great because its 100% up to you what symbols you use.Â
literally anything - itâs fully adaptable to your lifestyle!! I have lists for library return dates, stationery I need to check out, a list of when my amazon orders are due to arrive etc. you can have anything from recipes to a hitlist (but donât have a hitlist pleASE)! you just add it into your index with the page number!!

There are several prerequisites before one decides to study at a cafe. 1) Is one a foodie? --> Don't bring too much money and bring a water bottle. 2) Is one easily visually distracted? --> Face the wall when studying. 3) Is one easily distracted by delicious scents? --> Do not study in a cafe. 4) Is cafe ambience conducive with minimal distractions? --> Get to know cafe owner, get coffee discounts. 5) Is cafe really good place to study? --> Get job there; eat drink free plus free study area.
Thank you for doing the thinking for us!
đđź Gah bless đđź
Haha... No worries. My parents own a cafe so... I kinda know what it's like to study there. đ
how to start studying after school
clean up your desk: itâs hard to concentrate when thereâs a pile of rubbish on your desk. the chance of you fiddling with things is also higher! youâll get more done by cleaning your desk! if youâre looking for an easy way to organise your desk, check out these handy organisers!
get your books: get out all the books you need to study that particular subject. if itâs geography, an atlas might be handy.
get a notebook: if youâre in uni or college itâs a good idea to re-write all your notes for your classes that day. make them look clean and tidy. if youâre in secondary school and youâre studying for a test, summarize everything you have learned. in any case, itâs best to have a few notebooks on your desk too. hereâs a 4 pack of spiral notebooks for $7.04!
grab some pens: seems self explanatory! i recommend you having an ordinary pen, a highlighter and a pencil on hand. (a.k.a. the basics!) here are some super cute gel pens!
turn off your phone: by turning off your phone, you will get less distracted by social media. sure, people wonât be able to reach you but youâll get some peace and quiet. obviously leave it on if youâre expecting an important call!
look for a study playlist: if you easily get distracted by your laptop too, skip this step. i personally find it harder to get distracted by my laptop than my phone, so i leave it on and look for some music to study to. hereâs a masterpost of some good playlists to listen to!
get a glass of water: you really need your h2o, everyone. grab a large glass or fill up a water bottle. some super cute ones: i ii iii
get a healthy snack: if youâre like me and you love snacking on things while your studying, the best thing to do is to grab something healthy. cut up some apples and sprinkle some cinnamon on them (try it. itâs amazing.), grab some hummus and some celery or carrots or cucumber to dip in it, fill a little bowl with nuts, treat yourself to a square of dark chocolate! if youâre studying during dinner time or lunch time, make yourself a nourishment bowl to nibble on. for more study snack ideas, go to pinterest and snoop around the study snack tag for a while. try out my favourite smoothie bowl too!
take a deep breath: i know from personal experience that sometimes the workload can be really scary and freak you out. the most important thing to do is to take a deep breath and to tell yourself you can get through all your work. you can do anything if you try hard enough!
get cracking: now that youâve done steps 1-9, you can actually start studying! good luck!
Make a to do list
Plan the rest of your week
Make a study timetable
Get started on that homework
Sort through your emails
Think about jobs / careers
Have a group study session
Download / try some past paper questions
Listen to a podcast / some music / the radio
Read a book
Go over some old notes
Make flashcards
Take a break / talk to friends

the pomodoro method is so important and i feel like not enough people know about it or use it; the thing is it really helped me as soon as i started with it, so i figured i would share what itâs about and how it helps + some resources!!
what is it?
a form of time management in that you study/work in blocks and take short breaks in between
the general structure is: four blocks of studying for 25 minutes with 5 minute breaks in between, and after the fourth you take a longer 15 minute break; then repeat the whole thing (also see this it helps explain)
great infographic

Study tips for lazy people, let's be real
Iâm not saying youâre lazy but youâre human and you wear out quickly.
1. Take good notes the first time around. I see some people say rewriting them is a good way to memorize but letâs be honest, youâre not going to do that. Instead bite the bullet and do what you can the first time so you can read them later. Itâs also just more time efficient. And donât ask other people for notes, theyâre not you and notes need to be personal to be effective. So donât skip class too much.
2. You donât need 100 different highlighters to be successful (but you can if you want). The key is keeping it succinct. Write down what your teacher says and find it later in the book. Read those passages a couple of times in your head and out loud to yourself to commit the info to memory. Honestly just highlight the key words so that when you see it on the test, the info connected to it floods back.
3. Use your phone to organize your shit. You always have it with you. God knows you ainât gonna buy multi colored sticky notes and a $30 planner. And you might forget your textbooks and planner but not your phone.
4. Make a reasonable to do list you KNOW deep in your soul you can commit to. Itâs a better motivator to see stuff get done than to see stuff not get done.
5. Try to get stuff done before noon. Thatâs my best advice. Early rise and early done makes you feel accomplished even if all youâve done is read a few pages. This is probably the best time management advice I ever received in my life.
