Quran Thought for the Day

I started this run of quotes because someone who knew little about Islam insisted that it was no worse than any other religion. The Quran, Islam's foundation, is packed full of threats of torture and  hatred of disbelievers. It is an obvious fraud, not written by an all-powerful God, but by a manipulative ignoramus. It will always be a terrible influence on anyone who takes it seriously. The fact that there are over a billion Muslims would be funny if it was not associated with so much conquest, death and destruction. I will end by repeating the most revealing verse of the Quran: We shall send those who reject Our revelations to the Fire. When their skins have been burned away, We shall replace them with new ones so that they may continue to feel the pain: God has the power to decide. Quran, Chapter 4, verse 56

Say {Prophet}, "I seek refuge with the Lord of daybreak against the harm of what He has created, the harm of the night when darkness gathers, the harm of witches when they blow on knots, the harm of the envier when he envies." Quran, Chapter 113.

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined! May he be ruined too! Neither his wealth nor his gains will help him: he will burn in the Flaming fire - and so will his wife, the firewood-carrier, with a palm-fibre rope around her neck. Quran, Chapter 111.

[Prophet], have you considered the person who denies the Judgement? It is he who pushes aside the orphan and does not urge others to feed the needy. Quran, Chapter 107, verses 1 to 3

Do you [Prophet] not see how your Lord dealt with the army of the elephant? Did He not utterly confound their plans? He sent flocks of birds against them, pelting them with pellets of hard-baked clay: He made them [like] cropped stubble. Quran, Chapter 105.

He will be thrust into the Crusher! What will explain to you what the Crusher is? It is God's Fire, made to blaze, which rises over people's hearts. It closes in on them in towering columns. Quran, Chapter 104, verses 4 to 8

You will most definitely see Hellfire. Quran, Chapter 102, verse 6

...but the one whose good deeds are light will have the Bottomless Pit for his home - what will explain to you what that is? - a blazing fire. Quran, Chapter 101, verses 8 to 11

Those who disbelieve among the People of the Book and the idolaters will have the Fire of Hell, there to remain. They are the worst of people. Quran, Chapter 98, verse 6

...We shall drag him by his forehead - his lying, sinful forehead. Let him summon his comrades; we shall summon the guards of Hell. Quran, Chapter 96, verses 15 to 18

...so I warn you about the raging Fire, in which none but the most wicked one will burn, who denied [the truth], and turned away. Quran, Chapter 92, verses 14 to 16

The messenger of God said to them, "[Leave] God's camel to drink", but they called him a liar and hamstrung her. Their Lord destroyed them for their crime and levelled them, not fearing the outcome. Quran, Chapter 91, verses 13 to 15

...but those who disbelieve in Our revelations will be on the left-hand side, and the Fire will close in on them. Quran, Chapter 90, verse

On that Day, no one will punish as He punishes, and no one will bind as He binds. Quran, Chapter 89, verses 25 and 26

All of them committed excesses in their lands, and spread corruption there: your Lord let a scourge of punishment loose on them. Your Lord is always on the watch. Quran, Chapter 89, verses 11 to 14

As for those who turn away and disbelieve, God will inflict the greatest torment upon them. Quran, Chapter 88, verses 23 and 24

Some faces on that Day will be downcast, toiling and weary, as they enter the blazing Fire and are forced to drink from a boiling spring, with no food for them except bitter dry thorns that neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. Quran, Chapter 88, verses 2 to 7
