the ultimate blogging experience

For my film, I decided to make a parody of nature documentaries and films that try to prove the existence of mythical creatures like Bigfoot, Mothman, and the Jersey Devil. By making myself the “creature” I interviewed my friends as if they were cryptozoologists, and consulted them on information about me and the memories and experiences we’ve had together. through this film, the viewer sees a part of my world through the words of my friends.

You emerge from the last stretch of forest to be greeted by barren fields.

There is no vegetation here except for black amorphous statues, at least you think they’re statues...are they statues?

This must be the place, you think, this must be where it lives.

These fields are anything but dead. Eyes follow you, suspended by wire or cobweb, you aren’t sure which.

It must live here, if it does not, then I may not make it back alive

You’ve heard the tales your whole life, about where it hides and what happens to people who try to commune with it.

Everyone talked, no one took the chance themselves.

But you will.

Acidic green haze settles from the sky. The eyes are glowing now. It seems you’ve gone past the point of turning back.

These eyes seem like they could fit in the gaps of the “statues” but you aren’t willing to risk upsetting the environment. You’ve never been somewhere so silent before, you swear you can hear your own heartbeat.

This better be worth it.

The ground seems too solid to be earth. Unsettling, but promising. According to the legends, you’re nearly there. But you’d be lying to yourself if you swore you hadn’t thought about turning back at least a few times by now. But you didn’t. You knew that was impossible. What lies ahead is potentially much better than returning with shame, or being stuck here forever.

It will hear you coming, it will sense your energy. If you approach it the right way, it will let you in. Either one of two things will happen: you will experience something amazing, or nothing at all.And no one knows what happens after that.

The silence is interrupted. Your heart races and you break out into a sweat.

Don’t be too hasty don’t scare it but don’t be too ginger either and don’t upset it and be gentle and only offer it something worthwhile and whatever you do you better not let it see you tremble or all you’ve done will have been for nothing and God knows if it has ever killed anyone but I guess I’ll find out soon enough.

It approaches.
