Carnival for David Graeber
Carnival is the place where everything is turned upside down, where freedom and the possibilities of changing social orders and prescribed roles reign. There has been never a better place to live Davidâs ideas rather than to just remember them.

Fight Club
The idea of the Fright Club was created in memory of David Graeber by his friends.
Itâs time to stop being timid and follow the bold and clever political artistry of Joseph Beuys. In one pop-up exhibition, he argued with audiences for 100 days, advocating direct democracy.
Curators: Steve Keen, Nika Dubrovsky
¡ To keep Davidâs deeply researched and humorous challenging of myths alive after his untimely death;
¡ To counter the public debate initiated by the right-wings, which for fifty years dominated most of the public spaces â newspapers, television â and was thus most accessible to the masses. We lost it and we have to get it back!
¡ To counteract the fake concept of identity politics and the âcancel cultureâ; and, the most important,
¡ To remain cheerful and artistic in the face of all odds, contradictions, and misunderstandings.
David asserted that human consciousness only exists in dialogue with others, and the myth of the individual âthinker-philosopherâ is nothing but a myth.Â
Reading Groups
We read and discuss David Graeberâs texts and related material. Please do feel free to get in touch if you are interested in presenting a particular text. All voices are welcome. We meet twice a month on Thursdays at 8 pm (London time).
ANTHROPOLOGY FOR KIDS IS A SERIES OF BOOKS, WORKSHOPS AND CONVERSATIONS EACH FULL OF PICTURES AND STORIES ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A HUMAN.
I (Nika Dubrovsky â an artist) started this project with my late husband (David Graeber â an anthropologist), together with our friends (you perhaps), producing politically challenging childrenâs books for adults (children too).
We have discovered something interesting: no one will publish books like that. Even if youâre a famous author, great artist, etcâŚ
But we want to change it! You can help! Not just with money â though we definitely need some of that â but in all sorts of ways that can make you part of the team, as editors, translators, contributors, researchers, even possibly someday authors.
About us
The network of solidarity formed during #Carnival4David is being transformed into the Museum of Care (and Freedom).
We are working on creating a network of residences, distributed worldwide, related to reading groups, public art projects, conferences and educational programs.
The Museum of Care is a museum with many rooms around the globe. Like in any museum, some of these rooms are more permanent than others. New rooms are opened, existing rooms are occupied and change their function, and some rooms are abandoned and closed.
