#MyMFIT / Pink: The History of a Punk, Pretty, Powerful Color (2018)
I first visited the Museum for the 2018 "Pink" exhibition and I completely fell in love! The way it was displayed and explained was amazingly inspiring for me as an artist.

#MyMFIT /Â Proust's Muse (2016)
“Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay2019 and for me #drawing is a form of meditation that helps me be present. Drawing Comtesse Greffulhe’s evening coat in a notebook as I did in an exhibit @museumatFIT makes it less precious. @Drawinglives @The_Big_Draw” ~ Ingrid Mida

#MyMFIT / Paris, Capital of Fashion (2019)
#MyMFIT moment was when I turned the corner and saw this John Galliano for Dior piece and said aloud “They don’t seriously have this!?!!”, startling the man next to me. This piece has held a place in my heart from the moment it was shown. I’ve had pictures of it on my walls growing up and in my inspiration boards as a student and as a designer now. This is my religion. 🙏🏻 ~ Sabrina

“Today on November 13, 2019 I came to see my grandfather’s art with my family, and felt inspired by his work.” (Michael Mott for Paraphernalia, mini dress with optical illusion, circa 1966,)
#MyMFIT / The Museum at FIT
Every year, my husband and I come to NYC for annual conference, and I make the FIT current exhibitions my first destination, followed by a Broadway show and dinner at Balthazar. Unsurpassed NYC traditions. ~ Agnes

#MyMFIT / Splash! A History of Swimwear (1990)
I remember an exhibition of swimwear many years ago and as I walked through the first gallery I commented to an associate that I adored a little Pucci bikini. Â It looked just like one I had worn when I was able to. Â Turned out that it was a piece I had given to the museum. ~ Eleanor
#MyMFIT / Three Women: Madeleine Vionnet, Claire McCardell, and Rei Kawakubo (1987)
“The most visually powerful exhibit I recall was the lower level “army” of mannequins in head to toe Rei Kawakubo CDGs’ glory. The optic white glow and buzz of fluorescent lighting added to the static, minimalist beauty of the exhibit.”
#MyMFIT / The Museum at FIT
“I love fashion exhibitions, especially this, is the place where I get inspired most, as I come here to get knowledge to share it with my fashion design students at my fashion institute.”
#MyMFIT / Minimalism/Maximalism (2019)
Minimalism/Maximalism exhibit with my kids on the eve of my 50th birthday. My mom used to work for Calvin Klein making his runway originals when he first started in the 70’s. ~ Arlyn
#MyMFIT / Study Collection
Decluttering my college piles and finding my #Louboutin shoes sketches at #MuseumatFIT a decade ago. I miss the days of being a fashion student sitting in a museum sketching all day and being carefree. Spending time at FIT Museum was one of my coolest experiences in NYC! ~ Peter https://www.instagram.com/p/B0Ta-jhAH3l/

#MyMFIT / Black Fashion Designers (2016)
Black Fashion Designers was near and dear to my heart. My husband and I had the privilege of being members of The Black Fashion Museum in Harlem. My husband and I worked with Lois Alexander Lane on a project for the Museum before her untimely illness.
#MyMFIT / Dance and Fashion (2014)
I still remember the exhibition about fashion and dance a few years ago. It was simply magical and I also attended lectures about the Martha Graham company and about Flamenco with Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.Â

#MyMFIT / Elsa Peretti (1990)
There was an Elsa Peretti exhibit around 1990 that I will never forget. The snake necklace and belt were displayed on sand. It was just so beautifully presented. Not just a bunch of stuff displayed but a context was created for the accessories. A story. It was incredibly inspiring. I graduated and went on to do windows for Barneys and ABC Carpet & Home before becoming a fashion editor. And I now own that @elsaperettiofficial necklace. ♥️ ~ Bob
#MyMFIT / Faking It (2014)
I attended the FIT museum’s exhibit “Faking It,” where I learned about illicit production and trade. I changed my major the same day to ITM, started studying fashion law, got an internship at the United Nations, and wrote my thesis about counterfeiting’s ethical repercussions beyond intellectual property theft. My fashion law professor at FIT taught at Brooklyn Law School, where I now am a rising third-year student. My law journal note about counterfeit fashion trade and law is being published on the journal for which I’m the rising editor in chief. I’ve worked legal for Louis Vuitton and Virgil Abloh, and now I work as a summer associate at Skadden, one of the world’s biggest firms. My dream is to do fashion law. All of this happened because of that exhibit, and I couldn’t be more grateful that I walked into the museum that day. ~ Gabriella
