It doesn’t make any sense to me! They look so dissimilar it’s a little jarring. I understand the in-story need to make it so that 1. It’s not immediately obvious that they’re related and 2. two main characters don’t look like carbon copies of one another….. but still the lack of sibling resemblance feels leaps and bounds too far.

Genetics are complicated and its common for siblings to look different from each other (especially in families that descend from nomadic cultures who travel around and mix with other local groups; or families in colonized nations where the natives peoples are ethnically different from the conjuring people).

I am also aware of the complexity of genetics, but we are not talking about real people. These are characters created and refined by a team of people to create and market a game. These characters were not created in a vacuum and do not currently exist in a vacuum. As characters, they are limited to the knowledge & biases of their creators and the knowledge & biases of the consumers.
