So about Jaxโฆ
Ok, I donโt usually like to make posts because I hate any sort of conflict but I just wanna say my piece here. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I want to share some of my own thoughts.
1 - โJax is bad trans repโ
I personally believe Jax makes brilliant trans representation because her story shows the darker sides of it. The side where the person may grow up in a closed minded/judgemental environment. I may not be trans but I am autistic and I myself have a lot of things that arenโt considered โnormalโ. Iโm different and have experienced some hard core bullying throughout my life. Being treated poorly over something that is a part of who you are that you cannot change fucks you up and I still to this day suffer from trauma as well. Showing the darker side of what itโs like to be trans in a shitty world like this is a good thing because it helps spread awareness of what that kind of behaviour can do to a person and how it may corrupt them.
Just looking at Gooseworxโs art of Jax if she wasnโt a โposโ is what Jax would be if she didnโt have the trauma and constant need to feel โnormalโ or โacceptedโ. Itโs not something thatโs part of her as a person, sadly itโs a seed that took root in her due to what she had to endure. Living in a world that looks down on people who arenโt โnormalโ. Unfortunately, in reality, thatโs how the world is. Thereโs supportive people but thereโs also a LOT of cruel people too and when you had to deal with that, it fucks up your head permanently. Even with a lot of love and validation later, the scars donโt disappear, they may fade but are always there. Jax is good trans rep for those who struggled with being closeted or even abused for who they are.
2 - The self insert thing
Gooseworx is trans and a lot of people are hating on Jax for being like a self insert who is shitty. Now are you guys telling me youโd prefer a flawless Mary Sue self insert that is clearly fake? I think Gooseworx was brilliant for acknowledging her flaws and โexercising her demonsโ as she mentioned in a post. In a way, she is expressing her trauma through TADC but without making Jax a hero or outright villain, rather just a damaged soul in a damaged world that mirrors her real life experience.
3 - โJax was abusiveโ
As someone who HAD ACTUALLY been in abusive relationships, I can say she wasnโt so much as abusive but rather she was toxic. Thereโs a big difference. Her toxicity stems from her trauma, which isnโt an excuse but rather an explanation for why she behaved that way. Jax was a bully to everyone else but tbh, she wasnโt as bad as most bullies I have seen. She goes out of her way to annoy Gangle and pick on her, which is a bad thing. But I will say she could have easily done far worse. Her point was to make everyone hate her because she was scared to let anyone close. The fact that Jax has so many haters basically means her strategy for that worked, you fell for her mask. When Jax goes too far is when people still try and get close despite what she has said and done, such as Ribbit, Pomni and Ragatha. Jax annoys the others but these three were still determined to get closer to her and to try and help, so she says and does harsher things and ups her game to scare them away.
4 - If she unabstracted
If she unabstracted, realistically, she wouldnโt come out as trans immediately. She will need time to settle into it. She may slowly start to let her guard down and be herself around everyone else but it will take a lot of time. Since Pomni is so patient, she would most likely be the one to help her the most. Jax wouldnโt use she/her pronouns right away, it may take months or possibly a year to get comfortable with it. This is because although she may realise how accepting everyone is, there will always be a voice in the back of her head saying otherwise. Itโs a typical trauma response to protect someoneโs head. After getting used to her new pronouns, she may ease into it more by wearing more feminine clothes before getting hair and allowing herself to get comfortable. Pomni would be the first to know and keep it a secret for until Jax is ready to tell the others, which will take a long time. She would most likely have a panic attack trying to explain the truth as well.
5 - Forgiveness
I see people saying Gangle and Zooble could never forgive her for her behaviour and I will sayโฆ that is both true and false. Zooble and especially Gangle will not forgive her outright and would still be weary of her for ages. Jax may be too scared to really put up an effort to apologise as well. It will start off as slow and awkward but it may slowly develop into casual small talk every once in a while. Itโs like starting over almost, however there will be a cautious voice in the back of Gangleโs head at all times. That voice may weaken over time as they get more used to making small talk and seeing each other again, but much like Jaxโs scars, they wonโt vanish, only fade. However it is still possible that she may be able to forgive Jax overtime. The likelihood of them ever being friends is very slim though but they may eventually just end up as people who casually say hi if they pass each other down the street. Just people who know each other without enduring any more recent bad memories. Not friends but not enemies either. That is the most likely thing to happen.
AGAIN these are my personal opinions and my thoughts on everything. This is my personal take on the finale and the drama that has been going on with Jax. People who are getting too worked up over all of this, go outside and touch grass. Thereโs literally been far more offensive stuff online anyway tbh.
