Cloth should hold up unless you’re heavier than you’re letting on. A bedsheet or two would do the trick— tear them up, twist some strips together, braid the rest into a rope. Depends on how high you’re trying to go or how far the drop is, but it’ll hold.

     I had an idea. I thought it was pretty good one at first, but if no rope is left, then it is useless. Being innovative is important for anything, broken world or not, I think.
