You’ve always liked the early, early mornings, or late, late nights, the time when nothing is quite alive but everything is alive at the same time. You like it for the quietness, the vivacity; the nothing, the everything. You like it even better when you’re able to sneak out and walk along the beach at who knows what hours, footsteps making indents in the soft sand and the waves rushing up to greet you quietly.

And you like it most when Minho joins you.

It’s 3am now, and the both of you are walking on the beach, feet sinking into the soft sand and the waves almost reaching your feet, just out of reach. Having Minho by your side, just his presence alone, makes you feel all the more comforted and secure, and even though you aren’t touching him it feels like he had drawn you into his arms.

With a little courage, you tangle your pinky with his, and then he takes your hand into his, and you’re holding hands now.

“It’s nice like this, isn’t it?” Minho murmurs, voice low in the night, and you agree, looking out into the wide expanse of dark sea, indiscernible from the sky at this time of day. Looking at the vastness of the ocean reminds you of how small you are, how lost you could get, and you turn to Minho’s side, looking away to land, looking to familiarity.

“You’re okay,” Minho says softly, “You’re gonna be okay.”

You look at Minho, and even in the dark he glows, eyes sparkling and a smile gracing his lips. You trust him so much, so, so, much, and you trust that you’ll be okay soon. Time will take its course with you, and you will heal.

“We’ll be okay,” You whisper. It is a promise that the wind carries, out onto the open sea and echoed through the heavens and into your heart. You will never forget your 3ams with Minho.
