Deleted Potions Class Scene.

Because the “394″ clip is not long enough we as a team decided that it maybe a good idea to do a montage of clips.  

In this scene we can see again the low key lighting is imperative to the atmosphere of this scene so maybe again we could think about putting the lights up agents the wall so that little light leaks through.     

CONTENT IDEAS: 

Scene “Turn To Page 394!”

In this scene we can see that low light lighting is key in this part.  So what we could try is, having one or two lights facing the walls so that little light is leaking out.  

Another thing that is striking is that none of the class rooms at BCoT have shutters over the windows, so what we were thinking is that we could improvise and have Liam/Prof Snape walk down in-between the desks slamming books down in front of his students, before he turns round on his heel and says that beautiful quote “turn to page 394.”

For the filming locations, we plan to make good use of the lecture theatre as this has the rows of desks and is quite a dark and large room.  We have confirmed with Nichole that we can use this room from 9am till 4pm on the 28th of May.  

However plans can go astray, so thinking of some back up locations, we feel that the rooms B305 or B304 would be also well suited to our needs as they are large and dark rooms, all we would need to do is reposition the tables and chairs into rows.  

For filming this production we will need

Three cameras and tripods,

Camera chargers and three spare camera batteries 

Two Lights

Filters and gels for the lights 

Four SD card or more

LIGHTING/CAMERA/LOCATION PLAN:

In todays event of recording the political debate, I put my self forward to look after the sound.  I feel that I stumbled into this blindly as I had never seen half of the equipment before.  Half way through the recordings the SD card kept filling up and I did not have half of the equipment. 

The first thing I would like to improve on is my knowledge of recording sound and the different mics and how to use them and of course what they look like and what kind of sounds and were they are they used.  This would have helped because I would not have been blundering about trying to figure out which part went where and what was missing.  I would know what I would need and what plugs in to where.  To do this I will look at youtube tutorials, and look up the steps on line.  What I could also do is see if a sound lecture or the technician would give me a demo.  I will do this by taking detailed notes with photos to I can look back.  I would like to do this by the end of half term so am ready for the next assignment.
