gyeongseong creature truly a masterpiece.

my heart breaks for both of them: a daughter who spent more than 10 years trying to find her mother only to find out she’s been turned into this monster. and her mother, after recognising her, protecting her and then, killing her trying to still protect her daughter, choosing to die just to save her.

gyeongseong creature not only has touched my heart, it’s completely broken as of right now.

the metaphor she used to describe and refer to jang uk (aka the petal) coming into her life when she most needed it and wanting him to come for her and take her away from the fate her mother has forced her to accept.

“what crime are you guilty of?”

“being alive. existing in this world. i am guilty of existing in this world when i should not.”

the way these words resonated deep within jang uk because that’s what he always believed and was told too from the moment he was born.

Yet we see Jang Uk LITERALLY stopping himself at the bridge and looking towards her because there is something in him that pulls him towards her. Because there is something that he can’t quite put a name to that’s telling him to focus on the girl in the boat, in the bridge… that girl with whom he’s almost recreating a past moment with Mudeok…

I’m not crying. My eyes are just sweating.

they also look like they aren’t together anymore, and after the disaster that took place right after their wedding, it’s no surprise. the general theory is that when naksu in mudeok’s body ran wild because of the bells, and her purpose was to kill her father, which made choyeon beg/scream at danggu to hurry up and kill her, but he hesitated and so naksu succeeded in killing him.

in the final scenes of episode 20, we also see how choyeon swears to get revenge on mudeok for killing her father, unaware that mudeok is, in fact, the sister her family had been looking for for years. the thing is, she wants revenge and this explains why danggu and choyeon look like they aren’t together anymore. and the reason could be that choyeon might resent danggu for not killing mudeok and therefore letting her father die at the hands of an assassin.
