Britt? Well we’re coworkers, and I think she’s a lovely person I’d like to get to know better. 

“Oh, ouch– I refuse to lose my hair.  I’ve given it strict orders.  Gray is okay, but leaving is a court-martial offense.”  He smirked at her expression and waited for her to finish locking up.  “Well, I think the results are amazing– maybe you can ask for an exception.”  Brody nodded at her decision to take Trixie and pocketed his keys, laughing as she pulled at him to keep pace.  “Well, dates for Valentine’s Day are overrated anyways.  You’ve got a lot more flexibility if you make your own plans.  I always do, although that could be because I never celebrate it ‘properly’”  Brody grinned: he loved the holiday specials, because it meant he could make use of all sorts of sales for his birthday and just make a whole event out of it.

He led Britt out to the lot, opening the door to let her into the passenger seat of his truck before striding to the driver’s side and pulling out of the space.  The ice cream parlor wasn’t far (nothing was in Lima), and it was pretty sparse in terms of customers– it was winter after all, even if it was a warmer day.  “Alright.  So, I have to warn you, now that we’re here and you can’t escape, there are rules to this game, Britt,” he informed her with a playful look.  “And the first one is we can’t get the same flavor, because that’s just a waste of a scoop.  B, if you get a cone versus a bowl, then you have to get a hat because otherwise the scoops won’t stay put.  And 3…I will still love you, Britt, but I’ll also judge the heck out of you if you put coconut on your ice cream,” he added with a tease, glancing from the menu back over to his friend.  

Brittany laughed and shook her head. “Your hair listens to you? Is it some kinda magic?” She was in a great mood and happy to walk beside her friend after a long day of work. “I used to have lots of Valentine’s Days with someone, so it’ll be nice to see how the other side celebrates it. Try and get free drinks and everything, wear my nicest red dress...” Her head tilted and her lips pursed slightly. “..what’s a ‘proper’ Valentine’s? Have I been doing it wrong all along?” She couldn’t help but pick on him at any chance, and she loved that he took it easily.

Climbing into Brody’s truck, Brittany fastened her seatbelt and turned on his radio to find something fun for them to listen to. When they got there she grinned at the bell over the door and the familiar cool feeling of the ice cream shop. It reminded her of warm, easy days back home when she had nothing to do but enjoy her days. Instead of looking at the menu she glanced through all the windows at the different flavors and colors of dessert, walking back and forth while trying to decide. “I didn’t know there were rules...I thought it was just...get ice cream, eat ice cream.” She listened to his rules without looking back at him, and she laughed. “Who doesn’t get a cone? It’s so much better that way! And also?” She did stop then to look over her shoulder at him. “That’s mean and judgmental against coconut and I won’t have it. Do you know how lonely it has to feel all the time? Just sitting there cause no one wants to get it?” She frowned and her head shook. “Poor coconut.”

Aw Britt– I don’t think you could ever scare me away.  Potentially cause my head to explode, we’ve talked about that.  Befuddle me to the point of insanity– possibly.  But scare me away?  Never.

Befuddle? That’s funny. I wanna befuddle you! Or be-cuddle....get it? xD

It’s easy really. Handle. What has a handle? Cups. What do you put in cups? Juice. What kinda rhymes with juice? Shoes. Take one away and you have a shoe. How did you not figure that out?

I can’t be the only one that thinks this insanely cool! I mean 40 light years away is far, but not impossible! I’ve been fangirling all day! Isn’t this exciting?!?

No, actually this is still better. Me and LT kinda had a dance party over it. I mean, I did and tried to include him but I don’t think he cares too much about planets anymore. He gloated when they fired Pluto.
