VAL — god she would love espresso martinis but she’s trapped in the sword coast, rip queen. idk maybe some kind of brandy?? it looks like they have a plum brandy in the world, she’d probably be into that as a nightcap choice.

RIYA — according to my research (3 minute da wiki pages readthru) thedas has cocktails so maybe some kind of sweet one of those, a wine (minrathous red or mulsum maybe), or there are apparently drinks infused with lyrium and that sounds pretty fun for a mage. maybe a rivaini rum bc of her baba?? idk man i can’t pick, but she wouldn’t be able to either so it’s fitting.

MAEVE — there’s a beauclair white and toussaint red listed under wines of the world and i think she’d favor both of those, especially after moving to beauclair full-time.

VAL — well the thing about val is that she’s simmering at a base 40% stress level at all times, so she’s gotten stunningly good at looking unbothered by stress/worry/anger/etc to avoid conversations about it. she’s pretty terrible with adding more stress to her shoulders because as a cleric of tyr she wants to right any wrongdoings and sees it as her personal, god-given duty to do so! it’d be immoral and, frankly, unacceptable for her to turn away from them, and so accept and accept she does of the unending fucked-up quests that come across an investigator’s desk. 

RIYA — was cool as a cucumber before she was framed for murder and then joined the grey wardens, now she’s ready to snap at any given moment from the stress and grief and anxiety and lack of affection and sex an-

MAEVE — mmm sadly i think she’s been skilled at maintaining a composed exterior since she was a young girl because her mother (and on rare occasions her father) was prone to outbursts of anger and she wanted to avoid aggravating her further, but absolutely if you took a peep into her thoughts during those times she’s repeating “don’t cry” over and over and over. she maintains that habit for a looooong time, but i’d say she’s putting in effort to unlearn the behavior in her late 20s/early 30s after she’s grown into herself and doesn’t wish to police her own feelings just for the potential reactions of others.

MEREDITH — depends on the company. there are some folk that she feels comfortable losing her composure around and lets it all out, but in general she keeps a tight grip on her emotions to avoid giving people reasons to doubt her or start arguments on her judgements or blah blah. (sometimes she fails and sits there brooding thinking about all of the trash loghain and rendon talked about her being a young, emotional little girl and that she was unfit for the power she was fighting to steal from them (even many years down the line when they’re both dead and gone and she’s a grown ass woman ://))).

VAL — ehhhh, kind of a coin toss tbh. she’s a beautiful woman that commands her space with ease and that naturally draws in a lot of folk, but generally she likes to be left alone and has gotten pretty good at projecting that energy onto others with her body language and resting bitch face. 

RIYA — she’s attracting people like bees to honey, man. she’s an alluring, vivacious lady that actively Wants attention on her and will put in the extra effort to draw people her way if they’re not immediately enticed, and even when she’s upset people still want to get closer because she looks pretty when she cries and has the perfect “i’m Baby 🥺 Comfort Me 🥺🥺” aura lmao

MAEVE — she despises being left alone with every fiber of her being so it’s a blessing that she’s gifted with the kind of charm and beauty that catches people’s eyes the moment she’s in the room, and on many occasions she hams it up if she’s feeling particularly needy or desperate for attention.

MEREDITH — i don't think meredith's ever been alone in her life tbh, even if she tries to isolate she has partners/friends/allies that follow along to keep her company/check on her. she's very charismatic, as one would expect of the heir to highever (and future queen of ferelden). she has an air about her that makes people believe they could approach her about any of their troubles and she'd be an active, sympathetic listener, and that does wonders for her noble reputation. the natural leader trait comes into effect here too, people are always looking to her first for plans and commands and etc etc. she's also very pretty so naturally that helps lol

VAL — her birthday is 15 eleint, 1442 (equivalent of september 15th), and she’s 55 years old when her campaign begins! she’s a virgo, but i’m afraid i don’t know enough about moon/rising signs at the moment to assign those (my next thing to learn as a personality types slut). justice & nine of swords are her top tarot cards, mercury is her ruling planet, and i know fuck all about ruling numbers i’ve never heard of them until this moment so [error noise]. yeah she and all my ocs fit the typical traits of their signs bc i pick them specifically for that as shorthand for people to understand their personalities quickly (and it helps me during character creation to bounce typical traits around to see what fits). 

RIYA — birthday is 18 cloudreach, 2:84 glory (april 18th) and she’s 26 at the campaign’s present! she’s an aries with mars as her ruling planet, and she’s got a bunch of tarot with the tower, death, six of swords, knight of swords, + six of wands. those were all chosen at the very start of the campaign but are still fairly accurate a year into the story, may get some new fun ones soon.

MAEVE — her birthday is february 20th, 1237 and her age is just like [wiggles my fingers] whatever it calculates to for the subject/plot at hand, but for ease she’s 35~ around the time of tw3. she’s a pisces with neptune as her ruling planet, and the empress is her primary tarot card. 

MEREDITH — her birthday is 14 august, 9:11 dragon, and she’s 19 at the start of dao. she’s a leo with the sun as her ruling planet, page of pentacles was her tarot right before the howe coup and then off the top of my head i see her going more into cards like the emperor, the chariot, strength, and justice as the game goes on/she grows.

🚫 PROHIBITED — does your oc drink/smoke? do they do it regularly, or is it more on occasion or for special events?

VAL — yes she does. she doesn’t drink often because she had one too many regretful mornings realizing that she’d left herself with impaired senses from the previous evening’s drinking, but she has a classic sherlock holmes style pipe that she takes puffs of on the regular. she’s Aware that it’s a bad habit and that she’s become a bit too reliant on it, but it takes the edge off when she’s feeling too stressed or overly sad or her mind is going in overdrive and it’s not like she has anybody that she feels comfortable confiding in so 🤷‍♀️ longuing in an oversized armchair by the fire with a pipe it is.

RIYA — yeah, without a doubt. she was a thedas party girl for around 11 years, she's tried most everything at least once tbh. at present she definitely isn't drinking frequently at all because of the endless travel and warden work, it's always been part of her fun and leisure time and that's far from her current energy so she's steering clear, but she liked having at least a drink or two at all of the events and such that she attended back in her socialite era. i imagine she would’ve favored smoking from a hookah simply because it’s more social, but she would’ve gone along with other methods if the setting called for them, and it wasn’t a very frequent happening altogether. i don’t think she would’ve favored the thedas equivalent of tobacco or weed (which i believe is elfroot), she would’ve been more into the experimental and/or magical substances (aphrodisiac type shit would’ve naturally been her favorite; oh and that grave-mist emmrich mentions in dav?? she’s undoubtedly tried that),  but like. unfortunately i know riya the whore would find certain older men/women smoking hot as fuck and would take whatever they offered her lmfao

MAEVE — yes, but i think it's fairly rare?? for sure more of a social activity for her. she likes sharing a glass of wine while catching up with her friends or attending a social event, but outside of that she'd rather be sipping coffee or tea or lavender lemonade tbh. for the smoking i don't see her going for it, outside of maybe once or twice if a partner asked her to try with them for some fun experimenting.

VAL — absolutely the fuck not. basically all hours of the day she's covered up, from an ankle-length skirt/pants to a high collar and gloves for her hands to top it off lmfao. i don't think it's necessarily out of any deep insecurity or anything, it just became her self-imposed uniform and a kind of barrier between her and the horrible crimes she interacts with daily. (could be fun if she started with the high collars because of a vampire encounter, since we know those sickos are around bg.) val in beachwear is so funny oh my god, she'd have to be in one of those vintage full bodysuits with shorts that go down to her knees lmfao

APHRODITE — big supporter of slutty clothes and loves to show off her body with them, both on and off the stage. loves form-fitting bodysuits and cropped shirts/lingerie tops with whatever bottoms look cutest and anything with lipstick patterns or sequins or blah blah, anything that draws attention and looks pretty. if it's pink and makes her look hot then she's gonna put it on. a whore for any piece that has a heart cutout in it, especially ones that form a boob window.

RIYA — she's a rich brat so yeah, probably sniffs the air like a dog over expensive perfumes and colognes lmao. does magic have a scent??? i've not thought about this before, that could be fun and silly but idk right now. (there's at least material components for certain spells and rituals, could probably find smth in there that'd get her going.) actually i will hijack this prompt to say that nearly 2 years ago i went and picked out ariana grande perfumes for riya (ended up with lovenotes vanilla suede, lovenotes pressed petals, moonlight, + ari) because i wanted to know what different scents she'd personally wear + spray onto her letters, so i at least know those scents, i know what she's putting out there for her lovers, i did Some smells homework.
