i really enjoyed the safekeep by yael van der wouden when i read it and still think about it a lot, same goes for tin man by sarah winman (lichte tage falls du's auf deutsch lesen magst! habs tatsächlich nur auf deutsch gelesen und fand die übersetzung an manchen stellen holprig, aber liebe das buch trotzdem sehr und würd's gern mal im original lesen)! i'm also currently reading sunburn by chloe michelle howarth and i adore it!

i’m always down for open discussions and, in a best case scenario, educating people, but when they pull up into my comment section hitting me with ‘it’s not that deep,’ it tells me two things: first of all, they obviously have NOT done their research on the damage ai does, from people losing their homes because of the building of data centers, to the insane amounts of water & energy being wasted, to generative ai learning from and stealing from REAL artists’ work. and second of all, they clearly aren’t willing to learn about it, either. also chatgpt literally makes shit up all the time. YES, google searches will also hit you with ai replies now because we’re getting flooded with ai left & right and every app is trying to shove ai features down our throats, but at the end of the day google is a SEARCH ENGINE and chatgpt is not. so i’m sorry, but it SHOULD be that deep when your ‘fav’ is using chatgpt as a source of information like?? even if you don’t care about the resources actively being wasted on this stuff, it’s the fact that sophie seems to think chatgpt is a reliable place to get information from 😭😭
